just watched qilin for the first time and checked the old takes on it to maybe understand it better and HOO WEE WERE THERE SOME BAD IDEAS
#like oh my goodness is nothing enough for you in this show#i thought it was tastefully executed in a way friendly for little kids#they didn't turn sabine into a martyr but kept her humanity#mee mee mee mee this show never confronts real life consequences or conflicts#and then it DOES and the same people are like 'racism?? in my kids show??'#and also#'forgiveness and lack of vengeful retribution?? in my kids show all about compassion and kindness??'#i will admit the chinese rep in this episode wasn't EXACTLY what i wanted#but thats just a personal preference#i want to see more culture integrated into their lives e.g. shoes off inside wok drying on the stove etc.#not......exactly paintings and tai chi#because that feels more like set dressing—even though its valid and valuable to have#ugh do i need to make a separate vent post#yeah#lassie vents#ml fandom salt
