Adapted from a webtoon, the drama is about a bunch of high school students trying to survive a zombie outbreak caused by their own science teacher. The entire show is packed with a lot of action, drama, a tiny bit of romance, and also it does have a small scene with mature themes.

1. Characters

The characters are pretty well written. One thing I really liked was how they made every character have flaws and show both sides of human behavior. There were times when even the kindest and perfect characters would act out and would show selfishness which I think anybody would when they're fighting to stay alive. And the characters definitely felt like typical high schoolers and gen z attitude.

Here are a few opinions I’ve had over each character; (will split this into sections because I realized there are WAYY too many characters)

Nam On jo: Her character was a little too kind tbh, but very likable and not annoying. I liked how she was made with a very soft character but not annoying.

Cheong San: One of the realest characters and very relatable. He had his flaws but also had very justifiable actions imo.

Nam Ra: Definitely grew on me. Not that I didn't like her at the beginning, it's just that there wasn't much to her at the start. Up until she slapped Nayeon there wasn't much we knew about her so yeah. Badass B though!

Su Hyeok: VERY COOL, brave, lovestruck, and a little stupid lmao. He's extremely likable because of his playful nature. Did not overshadow any of the other characters even though he had one of the major roles.

Gyeong Su & I Sak: Both of them didn't deserve any of it man. My heart BROKE when Gyeong Su died. He was so wronged and there was nothing after to even homage to him because even Choeng San died :(((

Dae Su & Hyo Ryung: VERY cute and light-hearted characters. I'm so glad they made it alive. They really did help keep the balance when things got too serious.

Wu Jin & Joon Young: Part of the did not deserve this squad. I felt terrible when Joon Young jumped out of their cage and started helping them get to the other side instead of hiding his bite mark. Wu Jin died protecting his sister :( He didn't come all the way almost to the end and escape that hell of a school just to die that kinda death :/

Archery gang: Badassses fr! They really used their brains. Very likable characters. I have a feeling there was a little more than friendship in there somewhere (i hope it's canon)

So Ju: UNPOPULAR opinion but I think the writers could've done a better job on him. His entire role was to get to his daughter. But that felt like it was dragged on too much and was kinda dull even tho it looked like hell. I mean yeah obviously because it had to last until ep 11 but I think there could've been more to him because his death seemed too easy.

Gwi Nam: Redefined immortality man. Why wouldn't he die oml. nailed his character tho ngl. They used the same formula of the bad guy getting extra benefits/ immunity and surviving up until the end. Anyways fuck him.

1.1 Na Yeon

ㅤㅤㅤFUCK HER. I HATED HER CHARACTER SO MUCH. I kind of thought she would have a redemption arc when she was going to take them food but nah. I felt worse because the teacher had to die to save her. When she's trapped in the supply room I don't think she felt guilt every time Gyeong Su was brought up. I think it was just her not wanting to come to terms with the fact that she actually murdered him. Idk how exactly to explain the difference but yeah. (also I didn't know this but she was also in squid game lol. She looked awfully familiar lmao. Yoo mi really nailed this role tho)

1.2 Eun Ji & Cheol Soo

ㅤㅤㅤTHESE TWO WERE SO INFURIATING OMG the amount of absolute unnecessary chaos they brought to the plot was unbelievable. BUT I GET IT. They were bullied and school was literally hell on Earth for them. Eunji was so wronged for being s*xually harassed like that and the fact that the school didn't even try to do anything about it was disgusting but the sad reality. What Eun Ji did was understandable because after so much hell she finally was at peace with nobody to bother her. Cheol Soo on the other hand. THIS MF STRAIGHT TO JAIL, ELECTRIC CHAIR HIM. FUCK HIM. IT'S GOOD THAT HE DIED, BUT THAT WASN'T SATISFYING ENOUGH.

1.3 The cop squad aka comedic relief

ㅤㅤㅤAdorable! I'M SO GLAD THEY ALL MADE IT. They were such a fun gag in the show and none of it was cringey. They kind of did have a huge role to play but also I wish we got to see more of them and I hope they had some sort of good ending because they never show what actually happens. I hope the little girl and the baby stayed with the cop.

2. The plot

7.5/10 for the plot. I really liked the plot because there was not one infuriating scene of the characters making a dumb decision or doing the exact opposite of what they're told. Like splitting up into smaller groups, walking towards the noise, tripping over absolutely nothing etc etc.

Mid plot it kinda felt like the same thing kept happening like they get trapped in a room, one person was bound to die or turn, they had to find a new way to escape like an escape room. But it still kept me entertained and IT WAS A SCHOOL and there isn't anything apart from a bunch of classrooms lmao so yeah.

Apart from that though, I felt like the ending was a little meh. It felt a bit rushed or downplayed compared to the beginning and mid plot. Which is also when a lot of side-tracking began, for instance, there was no reason to keep showing and dealing with the assemblywoman and politicians after Onjo's father escaped.

I haven't read the webtoon but I've heard it's very different from it. So maybe it ended better in the webtoon. I'm also guessing the part where they bomb the 4 areas looked better in the webtoon than the show.

This lmao. FOR SOME REASON NOBODY would let Gyeong Su deck her so I'M GLAD NAM RA took it upon herself to do so.

4. Extra thoughts

You're telling me the army/ military was so good at containing the outbreak to only the Hyosan district? Nah that's mad

Out of a whole group of archers how come only 2 of them survived? Like why did the rest split up what even happened in between?

I did say this before but THEY MENTIONED TRAIN TO BUSAN. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO REALIZE THAT WHEN SOMEONE'S BONES START CRACKING WEIRDLY AND THEY WANNA BITE YOU THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THEM AND YOU NEED TO STEP AWAY.

Na yeons death was so??? like there was no foreshadowing or anything. She gets bitten by Gwi Nam and they have no connection from the beginning so it was kinda dull.

The science teacher's explanation/reason as to why he created the virus or whatever 'experiment' he was up to was so dumb like if your son is getting bullied into oblivion, SHIFT SCHOOLS!?? instead of turning him into a monster???????

I REALLY LIKED THE HUMOR OF THE cop gang and Dae Su I cannot stress this any more.

Ngl Cheong San did deserve to die. Like there's no specific reason but it was pretty predictable.

Jimin was such a two-timer. Her character was eh.

Su Hyeok was too attached to Nam Ra but ion blame him

Finally, tbh these kids HAD THE WILL TO LIVE like I don't even have an ounce of what they have. Like why do yall wanna live so bad huh??? The only relatable one was Mi Jin who said she'd rather die than take her CSATs.

This show fucking insane. Idk what exactly im referring to the kids or the plot or whether its in a good or bad way. Its just insane lmao
