its kinda baffling when game devs and companies absolutely refuse to not alienate the speedrunners and mod makers in their game's community by making their game's code as hostile to them as possible and reverting every bug that a speedrunner might use even if it's only something one in a hundred thousand casual gamers might find. skyrim would not be what it is now without mods.

#for good or bad.#I know why companies dont want to cater towards those groups overall and especially for certain genres of games. but more often than not #theyre just shooting themselves in the foot. like besides those genres like multiplayer fps etc if the company isnt going to be adding #any new content themselves and people are just making new content in the form of mods that make their game more popular...#are they just unable to see that.#and games where the devs actively worked with speedrunners and modders easily end up having flourishing communities bc of that.
