anna hellevik    +    timeline  /  recap of series one of lykkeland.
stavanger is in crisis,   with its fishing industry slowing down and the oil adventure coming to a halt before it’s even begun as international companies begin to pull out.      anna,   an ambitious young woman,   finds herself in the center of it all.
i.   TREASURE HUNT.      summer 1969.
jonathan kay,   a lawyer for phillips petroleum,   is sent to stavanger to sublet their rig,   ocean viking,   to another company or facilitate a withdrawal deal.      anna hellevik,   a farmer’s daughter from dirdal,   celebrates her engagement to high school sweetheart christian nyman,   the heir to the nyman fishing and shipping company,   who due to his occupation as a diver on the ocean viking platform is offshore for long periods of time.      anna lands a job as politician arne rettedal’s secretary and transcribes his meetings with phillips petroleum’s ed young and jonathan kay.      after phillips decides to drill its final block on the ocean viking rather than pull out,   christian gets into a car accident with marius torstensen,   who sustains injuries he later dies of.      christian lies to the police and claims he was sober,   thus keeping the accident off his record.      soon after,   marius’ pregnant daughter toril is forced to marry a local man who has agreed to raise her illegitimate child as his own.
ii.   SMOKING BAN.      late 1969.
anna’s parents,   hardon and oddfrid,   wonder if christian and anna are a good match,   claiming they’re too different,   and oddfrid isn’t sure she really loves him.      rein,   anna’s older brother,   is out of work and hopes to get a job on an oil platform.      meanwhile,   christian is offshore when Phillips Petroleum believe they’ve found oil on the 2/4 block.      in a meeting with rettedal,   ed and jonathan pretend they haven’t found anything of significance,   and name the block ekofisk.      christmas is just around the corner,   but nyman’s shipping company has to lay off several of its employees,   and christian’s father fredrik cuts his own salary by 20% to help the company,   which catapults his wife ingrid into a valium induced depressive episode.      when christian is flown back to shore in order to help his mother,   he tells anna that they’ve imposed a smoking ban on the platform.      smart enough to know that this means they must have found something,   anna shares this knowledge with rettedal and tries to convince her future father-in-law to enter the oil industry,   but her attempt is interrupted by toril,   marius’ daughter,   going into labour.      after the last day of work before christmas,   jonathan invites anna to the movies.      she declines,   explaining she has to get back to the family farm,   and he walks her to her bus.      on december 23rd 1969,   phillips petroleum finally finds oil on the ocean viking platform,   with claims it’s the largest underwater oil reservoir ever found.
iii.   THE SUMMER HOUSE.      spring 1970.
anna is in the midst of wedding planning with ingrid and fredrik at garnodden,   the family summer house,   but christian himself is a no-show.      fredrik is in need of a translator at a meeting with a possible buyer in england and asks anna to accompany him.      christian holds a party at his new apartment,   a purchase he has kept secret from both his parents and anna,   and invites friends and coworkers from the platform,   including jonathan.      while at the party,   christian and anna get into an argument about the family’s financial problems and their different priorities.      after christian storms off,   a conversation with jonathan makes anna realise that selling garnodden to phillips petroleum would help the nyman family from going into financial ruin.      the next day,   fredrik’s meeting in england is unsuccessful,   but after anna recommends turning their old trawling ships into supply ships for oil companies,   fredrik returns to stavanger with a new sense of hope.      when anna later tells fredrik that she took jonathan to garnodden so he could survey the plot,   he’s disappointed in her,   but after yet another unsuccessful meeting with the bank,   he decides to follow her advice and sells garnodden to jonathan and phillips petroleum,   against his wife and son’s wishes.
iv.   SIXTY NINE METRES DOWN.      spring / summer 1970.
anna’s role in the sale of garnodden has led to a falling out with both christian and his mother.      she hasn’t spoken to either of them in weeks,    but after running into fredrik while working for rettedal at the golf club,   he forces his son to apologise to her.      despite their bickering,   they make up.      the following week christian is involved in a traumatizing accident on ocean viking in which damon,   a close friend and colleague,   dies.
v.   DIRDAL VALLEY.      early 1971.
when phillips petroleum is looking to build a dry dock for the construction of the ekofisk tank,   jonathan notices anna’s family farm in dirdal on one of the possible building plans.      the land owners are to be given offers by norwegian contractors’ gunnar sandvik later the same day,   so jonathan drives anna to her family farm so she can convince her father to take the offer.      by the time they get there,   hardon has already refused the offer,   but after anna lies to her family about the other landowners accepting the offer,   her father changes his mind and accepts the offer.      after the meeting,   anna and gunnar meet for celebratory drinks at esso motor hotel,   where a moment between anna and jonathan is interrupted by toril,   who now works as a waitress at the hotel.      anna spends more time with jonathan,   while christian decides to start a diving company of his own with martin, a friend and fellow ocean viking diver.      meanwhile,   the stavanger city council has decided that the dry dock will be built in jåttåvågen rather than dirdal,   and anna’s actions has alienated her family from the rest of the village.
vi.   HOPE AND FRAUD.      march 1971.
while he struggles with financing his diving company c - max,   christian and anna continue getting into arguments over the smallest things.      fredrik sells his canning company to hastings,   the english company who turned him down the year prior,   in order to help christian with his company,   but lies about the production rate.      anna accompanies rettedal in a meeting with arve johnsen,   a labour party politician working on establishing a state owned oil company.      back at the office,   anna’s female colleagues think she’s beginning to sound like a politician,   and jonathan invites her on a road trip the following day.      christian offers rein a job with c - max,   but when anna returns to the family farm to share the good news,   she’s faced with the harsh realities her family is facing in dirdal.      rein turns down dhristian’s offer,   having been approached by phillips petroleum for a job at the platform.      hardon insists anna and christian’s wedding should be held at the family farm,   and won’t give her a suitable date for the ceremony.      anna then decides to join jonathan on his road trip around stavanger,   opening up to him about her struggles of feeling indebted to the nyman family.      back at the nyman house,   ingrid informs the family that hardon has finally agreed to hold the wedding at the atlantic hotel in stavanger in late june 1972.      when the father of toril’s son shows up to talk to toril,    christian reacts with jealousy and anna decides to spend the night at the family farm.      things have begun to settle in dirdal,   and the hellevik family is slowly but surely being included in the village again.      being at the family farm makes it clear that deep down anna is unsure about her engagement.
vii.   PARTY AT ESSO MOTOR HOTEL.      december 1971.
the norwegian state is considering moving the oil operation to bergen,   so rettedal asks anna to help him convince the state’s industry committee to choose stavanger as the oil capital of norway.      after taking the committee on a tour of the ekofisk tank,   jonathan invites anna on yet another road trip the very same night,   but she’s busy with work as rettedal is hosting a dinner for the committee.      when arve johnsen tells rettedal it’s unlikely the committee will vote for stavanger because it’s such a conservative and religious town,   anna is given the responsibility to organise a party at esso motor hotel to show the delegates that stavanger can be fun.      after the party,   jonathan tells anna he likes her and they spend the night together.      they sleep together again the following day,   but anna is conflicted.      after having dinner with rettedal at esso motor hotel,    anna goes home to christian to break off their engagement,   but finds herself unable to.      she calls jonathan,   who expects to hear good news,   but instead tells him she doesn’t know how christian would cope if she left him.      she tries writing a letter to end the engagement,   but can’t find the right words and instead goes back to christian,   ending her relationship with jonathan before it’s even begun.
viii.   THE OIL CAPITAL.      spring / summer 1972.
anna and christian’s wedding is only a few months away,   and planning is in full swing but at the wedding tasting,   anna finds herself arguing with fredrik over their differing political views, and her distaste for the family’s view on wealth only grows.   the next day,   jonathan and ed young have a meeting with rettedal which anna transcribes.      after the meeting,   jonathan,   who still has feelings for anna,   asks her to go for a drive but she refuses.      she rushes home to christian,   but is left annoyed at his drinking habits.      jonathan flies back to bartlesville.      meanwhile,   on june 14th,   the parliament votes on the establishment of a state owned oil company and the location of norway’s oil capital.      stavanger wins and is officially made the oil capital,   and the parliament votes to establish a state owned oil company,   which later becomes statoil.      jonathan is offered a senior position at the phillips headquarters in bartlesville.      later the same day,   anna and christian’s parents are finalizing seating arrangements for the wedding reception when anna finally breaks down.      a conversation with fredrik leads her to finally admit she doesn’t love christian anymore,   and she ends the engagement.      she then applies for a bachelor in economics at nhh in bergen.      in august,   jonathan turns down the senior position in bartlesville and returns to stavanger,   finding anna just as she’s about to move to bergen.      the two reunite and decide to enter a long distance relationship while she studies.

Dollarstore Mistletoe ‣ ljn
‣ genre: fluff, friends-to-lovers, female reader
‣ wc: 2.7k
‣ summary: Jeno looked up at the mistletoe then at you, cheeks heating up from the situation. So that’s why Hyuck had mistletoe.
Tumblr media
this was going to be a short blurb but sike... enjoy!
-
You sat at the corner of the room, eyes drawn nervously at Donghyuck who was holding a tied up bunch of mistletoe in his hand. Though he was tossing it to himself, you could already read his mind from across the room. He had a sly smirk on his face as he glanced between you and Jeno who chose to sit between Jisung and Chenle.
Donghyuck, I fucking swear. You texted him, eyes growing wide in a subtle warning once he looked back up at you.
He laughed out loud before texting you back, I’m not doing anything.
Not rn but ur going to.
He loved going over to your place just to tease you about your (apparent) undying love for Jeno, constantly pushing you to make a move because Jeno was a ‘giant wuss’ and ‘would not grow balls to do so himself’ while you ‘had potential’. And honestly, you weren’t sure what to believe when it came to Donghyuck. He was a trickster. Who knew if he was lying this time or not.
You could easily recall maybe a week back when you were hanging out with this pest of a boy. He had been spontaneously mustering up a plan to get you and Jeno to kiss underneath some fake mistletoe he could find at the dollar store, which could then lead to confessing.
“Please don’t. We’re not living in some rom-com, Hyuck,” you glared at him, hoping that his ridiculous plan would be thrown out the window, “It’s not going to happen.” There was not a single bone in your body confident enough to kiss the boy you’ve held the longest crush on. Donghyuck was wrong when he said you had potential, meaning he could be wrong when it came to this plan he barely put effort into arranging.
“I know,” he replied simply, “But shit like this is inevitable.  Plus you’re forgetting that I have the brain of a mastermind.” You ignored the way he wiggled his eyebrows in an attempt to persuade you, obviously failing. He knew he had to do everything himself, whether you liked it or not. Besides, he knew things you didn’t. He knew these plans were going to work.
So now, here he sat at Jeno’s house, waiting for the perfect time to dangle the plant above you both. He already knows you had the capability to run if you saw him move even an inch towards you. You were probably as alert as those animals being preyed on on National Geographic, ears perked and everything. Your fight or flight response was already activated just because of him.
As for Jeno, he was probably the complete opposite of you. He was leaning back on the couch with a delicate looking smile sitting on his face. Donghyuck was glad that he didn’t have a single clue about what was going on. But also... did he ever know what was going on?
A Christmas movie was playing on the TV even though barely anyone was paying any attention to it. Jaemin and Renjun were in the kitchen baking gingerbread cookies, following a recipe they found tiktok, while Jisung and Chenle were playing the nth game of PubG on their phones. Mark and Jeno were probably the only ones paying attention to the film, occasionally letting out a snort or giggle at a cheesy joke being delivered. Then there was you and Donghyuck, the only two aware of the plan that you didn’t even want to take part in.
“Why are you holding weed?” Jisung finally lifts his head from his phone’s screen, brows furrowed at the mistletoe in Donghyuck’s hands. He pointed slightly towards them, arm falling to his side soon after.
The older boy gave Jisung an unreadable look, “It’s not weed. It’s mistletoe.” Again, he tossed it up, barely grazing the popcorn ceiling before catching it.
“Ohh~ like that Justin Bieber song!” Jisung pointed out. His attention was soon directed back to his phone, probably beginning another game alongside Chenle. Jeno glanced at the younger boy and just shook his head in adoration and slight genuine confusion. It seemed like he literally had no idea, no clue, why Donghyuck was holding mistletoe. This, again, was good news to Donghyuck.
“Cookies!” Jaemin barged into the living room dressed in a holiday apron and oven mitts. He had flour sprinkled along his chest and collar bone, probably thrown on there by Renjun, who followed closely behind him.
Like young kids, attention spans were cut off and brought towards the gingerbread cookies, its aroma soon flooding the room. Through the pride that Jaemin gave off while standing there, you already knew the cookies were good. Especially with the help of Renjun.
Ditching your tense position, you had completely forgotten of your silent duel with Donghyuck, hopping up from the couch and skipping over to Jaemin. The others followed you shortly, Jeno being the second there.
Donghyuck pushed himself off the couch last, still playing with the mistletoe between his fingertips. Once spotting you standing directly next to Jeno, he stopped himself from audibly gasping and darted towards you both, holding up his arm above the space between the two of you, “Ah! Mistletoe~”
Your heart dropped, hand physically letting go of the cookie. It plopped back onto the tray as you spun around to face Donghyuck and then to an equally thrown off Jeno. You wanted to beat yourself up for letting your guard down for cookies.
Jeno looked up at the mistletoe then at you, cheeks heating up from the situation. So that’s why Hyuck had mistletoe. The math was mathing.
Jeno took in what was happening. Even if it was so sudden, Jeno didn’t feel like resisting. Instead he stood there and tried to read the non-verbal cues you were showing, trying to figure out whether or not you would want to carry out this unexplained tradition. Your face seemed to express no emotion, though he figured you were deep in thought, trying to process what was happening. And that was exactly what you were doing.
“I told you not to,” you mumbled towards Donghyuck’s direction. The looks you were sending Donghyuck could be used as weapons in some other dimension, but in this one the most you could do was intimidate the boy. In a brief state of panic, assuming Jeno found this situation weird, you tried to leave the situation, avoiding Jeno’s gaze as you did.
“It’s tradition!” Donghyuck attempted to pull you back. He was trying to be Christmas Cupid, knowing that feelings were being exchanged without the other’s knowledge. He thought he’d be helping.
Jeno shook his head, “N-no, Hyuck, it’s fine… if Y/N doesn’t want to do it, we can’t force her.” He felt himself gulp, mostly from the subtle rejection he’d received, before quickly reaching for a cookie and fleeing the scene.
Donghyuck turns to you, arm dropping to his side and mouth wide open, “He was going to kiss you!”
For a second, you doubted Donghyuck, shaking your head. But then at the realization that Jeno had left the room in a rather disappointed state, you probably were wrong and for once, Donghyuck was right. But there was no way you were admitting that in his presence.
It would’ve been completely silent if it wasn’t for the movie playing in the background. Everyone was still trying to process what had just happened, while you were still staring Donghyuck down.
“Are you blaming me?” You gestured to yourself. Sure it could have actually been your fault but that really wasn’t good for your degrading self-esteem right now.
“Yes,” Donghyuck threw the fake mistletoe onto the three seater couch, “It looked like you didn’t want to kiss the boy. You basically stomped on his heart.” Sure Donghyuck was over exaggerating but knowing how much Jeno liked you, you probably did.
“No I didn’t,” you try to deny everything, not wanting your hopes to be crushed by false information and beliefs.
“You did,” Mark butted in, “He looked like a kicked puppy.” You shifted your gaze from Donghyuck to Mark, someone who you could trust a bit more, and felt your frown deepen. Feeling yourself stumble back in the slightest bit, you glance at the stairs where Jeno had gone, probably to his room. Should you talk to him?
“Just go talk to him,” Jaemin pushed on, as if he could read what you were thinking, “But take an extra cookie with you.” He held the tray of baked goods in front of you and you complied, slithering past Mark, Renjun, and Chenle before going up the stairs.
You had no idea what you were going to tell Jeno. That you wanted to kiss him? That would come off as weird.
The pair of cookies in your hands could be your conversation starter.
Upon reaching his door, you raise a fist to knock.
If it was possible, Jeno would slap himself so many times just so he could knock some sense into himself. He was sitting at the edge of his bed with his palm to his forehead, feeling like an entire circus. Why the hell didn’t he even act like he was weirded out by Donghyuck and that fucking mistletoe? Why did he act like he was waiting for a long time for that opportunity to kiss you?
Maybe because he was. But he should’ve at least pretended like he wasn’t.
Jeno threw himself back into his bed, blinking at the ceiling while he mentally attacked himself for being so foolish. How would he recover from this? He shouldn’t have ran out of the room like that. It made him so obvious. It gave away the feelings he hoped he had been hiding well the entire time.
Jeno you’re so fucking stupid, he thought, teeth gritting.
He clenched his fist and started to hit the middle of his forehead lightly with his knuckles, startled when he heard a loud knocking sound.
Was that my forehead or was that the door?
Sitting up, he pivoted his head so that he was facing the door, brows furrowed as he waited for another indication that the sound was (hopefully) the door and not his skull.
“Jeno, it’s me.” Your voice was muffled and your shadow could be seen through the bottom.
For a second, Jeno hesitated, unsure if he was ready to face you at that moment, but he soon decided against it, standing up and towards his bedroom door in order to let you in. Opening it just a crack, he peeked out, seeing your shorter figure staring up at him, eyes slightly unreadable, “I brought cookies.”
Jeno couldn’t help but feel his chest warm up at the sight of you. He held back a smile to keep himself grounded. Pulling the door to create a wider opening, he let you in.
“Are you okay?” You knew he wasn’t okay. Just by the look in Jeno’s eyes, you could tell he had a lot going on in his head. You didn’t want to start the conversation off with ‘I actually wanted to kiss you too’ because in all honesty, anyone faced with that statement would be scared in one way or another, regardless of their feelings for the other.
“I guess you can say that,” Jeno hummed and sat at the foot of his bed. You handed him one of the cookies and bit into the second one you brought. Jeno couldn’t even make eye contact with you. He was a smidge too embarrassed to do so.
You sat next to him, the heat of your bodies bouncing off of each other from how close you were, “What do you mean?” You were drawing the conversation out while you still tried to run through what you were gonna say as your version of a confession.
He shrugged, taking a small bite, almost a nibble, from the cookie, “I know you’re not stupid, Y/N… Donghyuck was painfully obvious and so was I.” Feeling his heart pick up its pace scared him. This only meant he could either lose total control of his words, or just not speak at all. He focused on keeping them tame, “I’m sorry you had to witness that. Just forget it happened, okay? Sometimes, Donghyuck doesn’t know he’s going overboard.”
Jeno spoke softly, head dipping down and bangs falling over his eyes. The glasses he wore slipped down his nose as he did, but he quickly caught them with the tip of his index finger.
“Donghyuck doesn’t normally pull shit like that unless he has to,” you say as a reply, “He somehow always knows things we don’t.” You hoped Jeno got the hint from what you were saying, but by the way he kept his attention at the cooling gingerbread cookie in his hand as he nodded, you knew that he was completely clueless. Were you being too subtle?
“Do you know why he decided to buy that plastic plant in the first place?” You took a bite from Jaemin’s cookie and swung your legs.
Jeno shrugged again, “Because he’s Donghyuck?”
You both let out brief chuckles but you regained your composure and sighed. From downstairs, you hear the others laughing at something, some background noise from the near silence in the room.
“Because he knows how I feel.”
Jeno’s ears perked up at this statement, still afraid to look at you. He shifted in place, “How you feel?”
You rolled your eyes at Jeno, hitting him playfully, “Lee Jeno!” Yeah, you did want to drag the conversation in the first place, but it was getting too long. You wanted to get to the point and Jeno wasn’t taking any of the hints you were throwing.
“What?” He whined, acting as if you hit him hard when everyone knows he’s got the muscle to resist that pain. This familiar feeling between the two of you, the wave of comfort he felt, caused him to turn towards you. Once he realized what he had done, he turned away quickly, feeling himself grow timid once again.
“I know you’re not that stupid either, Jeno. Can you please look at me?” To no surprise he doesn’t listen. He was getting all flustered. The shy, blushy type of flustered.
Lifting your hand up to his face, you grabbed it softly and turned it so that he was facing you. He complied, letting you turn his head, only, his eyes were shut tightly.
You huffed, “Jeno! Please open your eyes.” He shook his head while his face was still being held with your hand, “Please?”
Again, he refused, this giving you permission to attempt to pry his eyelids with your own fingers. Though you gave up quite quickly. You didn't want to force them open as any sort of mishap was bound to happen.
“Last chance to open your eyes,” you warned, only he didn’t know what you were warning him about. He still kept them closed, feeling comfortable in this position he was in now, “Fine, Jeno, if you don’t open your eyes, then I will…”
“You will what?” He smirked. Though you couldn’t see his eyes, you could see his emotion through his raised brow. Deep down he knew what you were about to do. But he wanted to sit back and wait for it to happen.
Without thinking, you leaned in and brought his lips down to yours. At first there wasn’t any response from Jeno, but once he had finally processed what was going on, his eyes shot open, and as if it was some sort of instinct, he kissed back.
You liked this feeling. Maybe you would’ve felt it sooner if you hadn’t refused to kiss him earlier. But also you liked it how it was right now, and Jeno felt the same. Private, without any of the others watching. And it wasn’t because you had to follow a tradition, it was because you both wanted to do it.
After a few more long seconds, you both pulled away, beaming shyly at each other. You finally let go of his face and sat yourself back.
“What was…?” Jeno was at a loss of words.
You laughed softly, almost coming out as a giggle, “That’s how I feel.”
Maybe Donghyuck was right when said you had that sort of potential.

awwww i’m here now darling so you better feel amazing <33333
ok miss i see the subtle flex you just pulled on me, just say your team is op and go... :pp jk!! no but yeah if you’re stronger than the goddamn bosses it usually goes easily. can’t say i’ve seen those days in a while tho rip
YOU ARE MY BABY!!!!!! you could do a doodle for me and i’ll literally cry abt it until i die. ooooh that seems good tho??? especially ningguang and beidou... the ladies are making a comeback 🥴 i agree with you actually!! i’d love for chongyun to come back (so you can get his c6 mostly) and for selfish reasons i want razor to come back to... bc boy scouts. i really want the boy scouts... hope it happens soon tho 🥺
speaking of boy scouts i just got him.... xingqiu.. i felt so bad bc i know how much you want him... :( but i didn’t get any xiangling so. i lost successfully shskdhsk. also I WISH they had cross-server co-op more than ever at this moment bc then we could do our chongyun + xingqiu dates... 🥺
cluna you’re literally so cool! you work through them? help couldn’t be me. i get super annoyed and if it’s not working i’ll just let it go and write something else instead shskdhdksk. for instance, i was working on this fic two months ago and i got really far into it when i hit a writers block. so, its just been collecting dusts for months now. a couple days ago i accidentally stumbled upon it and realize the potential it had so i might pick it up sksjdkd. i was literally prepared to just let it rot like so many other fics i write. so yeah idk sometimes i just give up because it’s easier even if it hurts me bc i spent so much time writing them sjshdkdj. yikes.
right?? and when you write a fic that takes place during the day you can get inspired by the atmosphere outside!! and yes!! i have to study outside i can’t get anything done at home. i used to be able to do that when i was younger but now it feels sooo impossible. especially with online school and stuff. either i go to a library, cafe or school. although most of these are closed now so i have to book a room somewhere to study. do you have a specific area at home where you write or can you just sit down anywhere and study?
for sure!! if i had the space i’d absolutely consider buying more books. right now i just have them scattered around everywhere (even some in my makeup drawer shdjdh). do you have a bookshelf? 🥺 that’s so pretty...! what are some of your other favorites btw? oh grade school is basically class 1 to 9... so from 6 years old to 15? girl no worries i know how difficult it is to understand all of that. when my friends used to explain their countries school systems before i’d just sit like owl eyes.
THE ALBEDO FANART!!!!! during his quest i took sooo many screenshots god he’s just perfect. he’s such a gentle and sweet boy ughhhhh.... he’s been gone for 2 days and i already miss him. and xiao and aether are just... yeah... i love how everyone ships aether with the boys yet i don’t think i’ve ever seen lumine shipping fanart? let’s just say gay rights and leave it at that.
BEFORE I CLICKED ON THE LINK I HAD A FEELING IT WOULD BE THAT POST.... literally us!!!! don’t make one in america no worries!! idk why my acc was set to that lmao. i’ll make one in asia tonight and just hustle for a few weeks until i reach co-op (i think it was ar 15?) plus i really want aether so i’m kind of not so stressed about it tbh? god i’m actually so exciiiiiteeeeed...... 😭 you gotta promise you’ll help me with domains and bosses tho you’re gonna be at a much higher rank than me while i’ll just be a little nooby girl. 😭
thank you so much for the encouragement!!! ♥️
today i didn’t keep you waiting too long, hehe. i missed you too much. but you’re porobably asleep now though :( oh well, can’t wait to hear from you my love <333
hiya!! i’m still up bc i miscalculated the length of a fic chdjcnskjd and thought to check if you’d sent anything before i went to sleep!! made me v excited to see there was not only 1 but 2 asks from you hehe (also it’s 2am rn so apologies for any incoherence!!)
AHAHAH fjskdjskdn genuinely tho,,, i’m really happy with my team rn LOL. and noooo you’ll get there someday!! before your world level increases and you’re stuck being many levels below the bosses again fhdjdjkd it’s a cycle 😩
NFKSKDLAKS i wish i could manage even a doodle… drawing hair is literally my worst nightmare (along with drawing anything else tbh) and all the genshin charas have such complex layered hair ugh it’s like they don’t want me to even try. yass beiguang (idk if that’s their ship name) actual queens 👑. razor!!!! what a good boye. i love his idle animation so much, pls he deserves everything 🥺🥺 and you deserve to get the boy scouts!!! can’t wait for that day to come <33
AHHH!!!! no don’t feel bad i’m so happy for you omg… live out all my xingqiu-having dreams for me please 😩😩😩😩 our xingyun dates!!!! some day it’ll be a reality <333
DHJAJSHS nooooo fuck writer’s block 😤😤😤 but i hope you’re able to finish that fic now!! (vaguely, if you prefer) what’s it about? also i have plenty of fics/ideas just rotting too, but that’s usually bc i get caught up in a new idea which i like more ? i think? lmao so yeah i definitely do give up on my fics too omg wait do you have those fics where you’re like omg this concept is god tier i’m so big brained and then you write out a scene and then it’s like … wtf do i do with this now? HAHAHAH like my attention span is slowly too short to write any long af fics, i can’t stay dedicated or interested enough for that but a lot of the ideas i have have the potential to be those 300k 40 chapter slow burn etc etc so there are so many docs in my drive that are just. works with like 2-3 written scenes and an entirely fleshed out plan but i know i’ll never actually end up writing it bc of aforementioned factors lolllll. that’s another reason why i think about just releasing all my wips some day! so people can see all the ideas im unable to execute jfjsndns. do you [like] writing super long fics like that? i admire your tenacity if you do ahah
agreeeeeed <3 and oh i see!! i always feel like people who don’t study at home are so studious fjskdksk it gives off that kinda vibe for me 🤪 and i have a study! so i usually do most of my work there. sometimes tho when i get bored and if i’m not watching a lecture i’ll sit on my couch or on the floor and change things up a bit lolol
djxkkakdks omg don’t let your makeup ruin the books.. or is the makeup more important djskskks. i do have a bookshelf!! it has like… 6 levels? and it’s all full 😳😳 other faves are defs the hunger games (catching fire >>>>>>>>) and you know the others like percy jackson, divergent, the mortal instruments. oh and the maze runner!!!!!!! the prequel (? sequel???) is probably one of the recent books i’ve actually read, even tho that was like back in 2017 lmao. i liked the john green stuff too.. just a lot of the like. basic ones LMAO. hbu??
6-15??? damn that’s an interesting range djsksk i guess the closest for us would be primary school which covers ages 6-12!
albedo is legit SO prettt and for what. his hair, his eyes, his soft spoken manner. ugh 😩😩😩 and taking a bunch of screenshots is a big mood!! ooo i’ve seen some lumine ones but yeah def not a lot ! (i know there’s discourse surrounding that lmao) but yes gay rights 😤 wait that reminds me i saw the cutest razor pic the other day and saved it i’ll show you when i’m in a more awake state to attach the image fjdjnd
!!!!!! ours minds… actually connected 🧠
okay that sounds good!!! and yeah wtf why does co-op unlock so like late lol let us play together NOW 😤 and good luck with starting again!! and have fun with aether hehe we’ll be able to have both ours meet 🤪🤪 AND YES I PROMISE!!!! i’ll carry you until we’re both the same AR and we can suffer fighting bosses together <3 you can just sit back and watch me do all the work 🤪 i’m super excited too!!! 🤩🤩🤩 and thank you for doing thisss even tho i know you said you don’t mind but still!! 💗💘💝💕💓💗💞

Danie’s Dilemmas Ep. 6: Messy and A Little Dry, ngl
Hey. It’s been awhile since my last episode and I felt like it was time for a little update... not that I’m saying that there’s a lot to catch up on, but I figured since I’m already up this late and we all know by now that I am slightly more than how I usually am, I might as well.
School was pretty shitty the last week, more so than usual, considering the fact that I went from having three assessments to double that amount. My brain and body were not prepared; I don’t think I’ve ever had that many consecutive panic attacks in such a short span of time. Ever since school started I’ve at least gotten six hours of sleep, so you can imagine how out of it I was when those six hours had to be even further reduced down to four. In addition to this, it was finally that time of the month. And no, it’s not what you’re thinking. I’m talking about the opening of college/university admission. So far, I’ve only completed one application out of the four universities I’m eyeing. Little did this bitch know that for your application to be reviewed and considered, you also had to pay an excessive amount of money. These bitches really out here trying to rob us, and it doesn’t even guarantee that you’ll get in. All it does is ensure that your application is going to be read over smh. This is the drier portion of this update, I promise lol. With that said, I should probably end it there with all the school talk because there are far more pressing matters to discuss.
After somehow enduring all the coughing and sneezing of the people around me in school, I finally caught the plague myself. Maybe it’s ‘cause now that “hell week” is done with and I have no excuse to not be sick, the virus I caught from the people throughout the week finally decided to come out of hiding, the moment they heard me say “I’m just going to have a chill day today.” So now my throat hurts, and my lymph nodes are probably swelling, right on queue just as I think about making a ukulele cover. Luckily, I have all of long weekend to lay around and do nothing.
Not that any of you might know who I’m talking about but this is sort of the extended portion of episode 5 (Tree Felling). The reason I say that is because for the past week, I’ve somehow managed to not make the first move, to not initiate the conversation, which I have done one too many times. I have to admit, I’m proud of myself because I suppose I took it as a sign that I’m well on my way to gaining closure with this whole situation. After a significant amount of overthinking, it really is fucking stupid and immature and I hate that I let myself invest so much time and energy into trying to make it work when it so clearly showed that there was a slim-none chance that things would go back to the way they were.
Until today.
I wouldn’t exactly categorize it as “progress” but after about a month of sitting in the dark, somehow I get the person’s attention by the simplest means possible. Here’s the thing though. I am never opposed to a good FaceTime call, right. But it seems like they are??? I don’t know where the fuck this is going rn because it’s sort of difficult to try and tell the full thing without hinting at who it is so if you really want to know, I’d be more than happy to tell you directly. Something about it was so off-putting because I feel like they think it’s perfectly normal to ghost someone for however long, then return as though nothing ever happened, that everything is just as it should be, which it’s not. I went with my gut instinct and just played along because I knew that if I addressed it directly, there was a good chance that they wouldn’t pursue the conversation any further, the one thing I’m trying to avoid. Then it got me thinking...
There are a lot of things I miss about the past and that I wish I could return to, except the past will always live in the past as part of our memory, so does it really even exist at all or does it become rendered as a figment of our imagination in the same way that our futures are?? This is starting to sound a lot like a conspiracy theory, but I’m genuinely curious... In the expression “the past is the past”, it entails that the past will cease to exist in our present and only remain where we left them. Okay wait nvm this was a bad idea. I’m not doing well, evidently. I don’t know how to explain it exactly but hopefully it’s is comprehensible to some extent.
All negatives aside, I just have to quickly mention how fucking grateful I am for all of the new music that’s coming out at the moment. Not that any of you asked or anything (actually, you didn’t even ask for this series at all lmao) but currently my two favourite songs are Golden by Hippo Campus and Churchyard by Aurora. I have to admit though that nothing can beat my summer and september playlists.
Also, I thought it was worth mentioning my friends (why not). Gotta always show some appreciation for them :). In spite of how little we see each other nowadays, some I don’t see at all even, I feel like we’ve still managed to maintain the bond, if not have it get stronger??? That sounds so cheesy but it’s true. And I love them to pieces. To be even cheesier (lactose intolerant people must be quaking rn), I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard, this often in quite some time all ‘cause of them. Well, really, it’s just their choice of memes.
Sorry this episode isn’t all that interesting. I’ve been trying to lay off the tea lately, not because I want to, but because I have no time to always be involved in tea and be the one to spill it. That just makes it sound like I purposely try to get into some drama or start beef but I’m not, or at least I don’t think so.. I’m kidding. I really am trying to get into the academic headspace so tea is going to have to be pushed to the back-burner for now.
my heart says continue, but my three brain cells have had it for the night so I better call it.
Keep up, will ya
