final ai related thought for the evening but i miss when it was bad and stupid and funny and trained on databases of content that was permitted to be used for such purposes. like even if i see some algo images that are funny to me because they look shitty and bad i can't really enjoy them knowing that they were most likely trained on stolen images/art/whatever. shit sucks

#soda offers you a can #i know i made a massive reblog chain poking fun at shit ai but the sentiment still applies #it sucks that skilled folks have their work exploited and turned into horrific creatures #and that that one anime kinda style with smooth shading has been so exploited by algo shit #that every time i see it i have to do a double take to check if it's real or generated #especially when a lot of artists who draw in that style aren't native english speakers and already have their shit stolen by people #to the point many have been driven off platforms bc of rampant art theft #this is a whole topic and im too full of sushi to formulate thoughts about it atm
