i love you cycle prophecies i love you characters crushed beneath the weight of your predecessors i love you characters who are mythologized before they can even introduce themselves i love you characters who are screaming for someone to look at them but are swallowed up entirely by the role they play i love you characters who feel so inconsequential and secondary to the title that they inherit i love you characters who don’t know where their choices end and where fate begins

I’m gonna go with my current blorbo of choice, Aunlin Boltwrench.
“How Bad Can I Be?” - cover by Elsie Lovelock. I’m aware of tumblr’s history with this song/character. But stumbling on Elsie’s cover of it really helped crystallize this wow adaptation of my original DnD Aunlin. This new Aunlin is chasing dreams of big business and financial success, and doesn’t care about the ethical/environmental/personal consequences her dreams entail. Trying to sell the world on enslaved demon labor is a tough job, but she’s gonna do it. “The people with the money make this ever-loving world go 'round”
“7 Rings”  - Ariana Grande. Aunlin is just beginning her journey to riches and fame, so she motivates herself by imagining herself in a position as described in this song. This is what she aspires to be with the riches she imagines she’ll get when her business gets big. “I see it. I like it. I want it. I got it.”
“Mine Mine Mine” - cover by Elsie Lovelock. Yes, another animated movie song about greed and money covered by Elsie. Aunlin’s primary motivation, above literally anything else, is to get rich. She thinks selling people the services of enslaved demons is her ticket to becoming the world’s first troll trade princess. “It's gold and it's mine, mine, mine”
“I Want It All” - Queen, cover by Julia Ivanova. Same themes as above, just from a different source. Avarice, ambition, and a very 1980s view of business success is Aunlin’s entire character. “But just give me, what I know is mine”
“More” - K/DA. A song Aunlin shares no matter which version I play. Both the troll and the drow version of the character share this inspiration. I don’t think it’s difficult to guess what theme reminds me of the character. “What’s higher than the top. That’s me”
I’ll tag: @arcanist-starweaver, @bardofheartdive, @ulixesstolatuss, @arcandoria
