I have a firefly, 2 ounces of fish eggs, a bottle of vodka, a handful wolf hair, and a Lizard eyeball. What can be made with that?
Tumblr media
"A firefly, two fish eggs, vodka, wolf hair, and a lizard eyeball... That's quite the peculiar mix. But if you split the ingredients, you can actually make two potions. Like for the firefly, one ounce of fish eggs, a tiny drop of vodka, and a bit of juice from the eyeball can net you a portable lantern which lasts for an extremely long time for a few weeks. The wolf hair, unfortunately, can't be used at all those items together, but if you have a shapeshifting potion, you can add some there to make your nose more attuned to that of a wolf's..."

how does he stop? how does he put it all down? corvo doesn't make eye contact with amelia -- she is far too smart and knows him far too well. the instinct his to reverse the conversation and throw it back in her face. because you have always communicated so well, amelia. you are so peaceful.
he bites it back. whenever he thinks something like this he remembers when he'd done the same with rafael, and the look on his face. when corvo looks up at amelia, there is something fragile, if you know to look for it.
" there isn't time. this needs to be in place. " there are papers scattered about corvo's desk, half of them with water and coffee stains and blurring ink. " emily's most fragile time as empress is now. i need security in place as quickly as i can. "
most of the papers have names scribbled out. he doesn't trust them. paranoia is pushing him to write people off from name alone - whether it be because of a very distant pendleton relative, or they'd served in the navy as the same decade as havelock.
the eye contact is broken already. his head lays on his desk.
" amelia, there's too much. "
lost this lol @sanctamater

If you want a good object lesson about what we can and can't know about the past, we don't know Ea-Nasir was a dishonest merchant selling shoddy goods.
What we know is we have found a cache of complaint tablets about him selling low quality copper as high quality, in a site that was probably his own residence. We know multiple people complained he was a cheat. It's entirely possible they were right. It's also entirely possible that he kept these complaint letters as records of people he would no longer do business with, because they had made accusations and threats in order to bully him into giving them free copper. That is an equally valid interpretation of the evidence.
My point is not that we have maligned Ea-Nasir, my point is that thousands of years later, we do not and cannot know.

I wanted to join that 'International Miku' trend that is going on on Twitter. But there were already too many gorgeous mexican Mikus... but probably not a single baltic prussian Miku 😎 (if there are already, then I want to see them! <3 )

This is what hieroglyphs and figures in ancient Egyptian temples looked like before their colors faded. They were recreated using a polychromatic light display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, following thorough research.
