I feel like the cis men in my life expect that me to watch series made and marketed for men but don’t then listen to my recommendations about series made and marketed for women. And then when they do consume something marketed to girls, they expect praise for it.

Like I can get told a million times to watch whatever shonen of the season or to give Naruto or One Piece a second chance. But they’ll never listen to me recommending Utena or Fruits Basket or Bee and Puppycat. And then when they do watch Wonder Egg priority they act as if they’re suddenly an expert in girl power.

It’s like I’m not even allowed to escape a world centred around men when I’m watching a damn TV series and I’m constantly expected to watch things about men.
