K - Seven Stories: Idol K

I had just binge-watched the ‘K - Seven Stories’ movies when I found out they had been subbed. I’m gonna make a different post for the others so this is just for the Idol spin-off. I took a few screenies. There’s so much cute chibis...

It seems there are different talent agencies instead of clans in this world. One is Shiro’s Silver Records. He had just told the other 2 members he plans to do a charity program to help agriculture but they can’t do it alone and so he has to go to other agencies and ask them for a collab.

Kuroh is skeptical but he and Neko would go with Shiro and help him anyways. It’s so cute... just look at the chibis! They do have a few shots where they’re not chibi-fied (and they all look good as expected for idols!) but those are kinda rare as this is a chibi spin-off.

First up is Homra!

Tatara is here. He’s okay in this au and is nice and I’m just happy to see him. Neko and Anna get along and look at the sleeping chibi-Mikoto over there!

Shiro already sent them a message earlier but Kusanagi said they’d help if there’s monetary compensation. Shiro, though, would pay with one rice ball each.

You heard that right.

I had to pause and scratch my head at this. I asked myself ‘What the f*ck?! Rice balls? Are you serious? Unless there’s something special in there then this isn’t gonna work.

Surprisingly, it did though. Mikoto (you know, the boss) ate one rice ball and so they accepted the payment (unfortunately for Kusanagi who was just as shocked as I was). It’s nice though cause it seems they’re friendly anyways so Mikoto was a-ok with the arrangement.

Next is Promotion Scepter4! I thought it’s totally not gonna work this time. These guys are serious and would not just accept rice balls.

But they did. At least Munakata did which was shocking but apparently, it wasn’t the rice balls that he was interested in. Shiro had mailed him earlier, too but with a bunch of info and research of how joining could benefit their group and Munakata was convinced with that. I didn’t expect that but hey, it worked and he actually knew what the heck he was doing.

It’s so cute to see Jungle Pro like this. They’re not government approved, by the way. They were making a bet earlier if Shiro and the gang would even show up in ther base but they certainly did, of course. Unlike the other two group, there was a longer talk between them and Jungle Pro.

When was this made, by the way? Cause isn’t this what’s happening now because of Youtube and TikTok? Anyone can be an “idol” in the real world, too but they gotta gain subs first and I guess idols from bigger companies and is more, uh, legit, I guess would get to be more popular but hey, it’s close.

Anyways, Nagare also adds in that if Shiro has them join the collab, they should be ready for the fact that the idols from Jungle Pro would take the spotlight and Shiro answered that he won’t expect any less hehe. They accepted, too.

As a SaruMi fangirl, you know how happy I was that these two were given a separate episode on their own? I expected them to be in their own agencies but instead they’re both working together on a show which is being filmed at Ashinaka High. They’re filming a tokusatsu by the way.

They were talking to each other and giving a bit of friendly banter but they’re close and they were even sitting next to each other and they’re not fighting. They’re still friends and that makes me so happy!!

And yeah, since they’re part of Scepter4 and Homra respectively, they don’t need convincing and Shiro’s just here for formality. They gave the duo rice balls!

Soooo cute!! I want acrylic keychains of my favorites in their chibi idol forms.

I was unable to get a shot of Silver Records cause they’re talking elsewhere and there were subs and it would be out of place cause the others didn’t. Shiro finally explains that the event isn’t just for charity but he also just wanted everyone to work together and have fun together without any competition which wouldn’t work if there was money involved.

The trio then shared the last 3 rice balls.

I was hoping for a performance but that’s the end of the story.

The ending song though. I was fangirling sooo bad whenever I saw it. They looks so good!!

Seeing Saruhiko perform happily was a surprise but what shocked me the most is that Yukari and Nagare are part of the team. Like, I know Yukari looked good cause that’s his thing but Nagare? I never really thought of him as cute until now.

The dance parts in cg when the camera is far away from them looks kinda awkward, not gonna lie but over all, it was good.

And the song ‘Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!’ is so catchy that I listened to it on repeat after I finished watching the movie. I looked up the video with subs and indicators of whose singing which part and their lines really fit them personally.

Never thought I’d like any male idol anime group beside the StarMyu boys but I was wrong. I just wish they had more songs together. Or an actual, honest-to-god idol spin-off series. I’d watch it!

Also, sad that I can’t exactly look for stuff for this au specifically (like posters or fanworks) here on tumblr because typing in ‘K Idols’ or ‘Idol K’ brings up... K-Pop idols. *sigh* of course it would. I have nothing against kpop, by the way! Just lamenting the fact that it’d be hard to look for stuff for the one I’m looking for.
