lately ive been going through my google history when im bored (which is so incredibly entertaining btw. highly recommend) and apparently, after double-checking my camera roll that date & finding proof to support this theory, i did indeed first watch hlvrai on november 4th of 2020. absolutely insane. i thought i hadnt seen it until mid-2021 at LEAST.

WARNING !!! below the read more is a long fucking list of funny* things i found in my camera roll from the week i first watched hlvrai. like not the images themselves just me talking about them. i dont know why i thought that was a good idea but alas i already spent 90+ minutes writing that all out and tbf i did have a good laugh looking at that shit. anyway the warning is because its long as fuck and i'm willing to bet not at all interesting to anyone who isn't me. i think if i talk any more i will ramble for fucking ever so ill shut up. *please note these were funny to both me in late 2020 (age 15) and me now (older but not at all wiser). what im trying to say is read at your own risk because 90% of this is unfunny as fuck but it could be worse. it could be shit from when i was 12. That would be really bad i think

anyway here are some highlights from my camera roll from like the day before, the day of & the day after "the incident" (me watching hlvrai):

a ridiculous amount of terezi pyrope pictures. i had not (and still have not) ever read homestuck

grand finale to this saga is actually from a couple days after (nov 9th 2020) but after seeing the staggering amount of death the kid images i had saved over like two days (i had watched a couple episodes of soul eater with my pals) i felt compelled to dig up my "death the kid get wifi anywhere you go" fancam. i might post it later cause its a classic (only to me)

i fucking hate the way modern internet friendships work so fucking much. I want to fucking attempt suicide thinking about how I will never have a core group of friends who also think of me as part of their core group of friends. I fucking hate the word "oomf" or "moot" what the fuck, why would anyone ever need to fucking refer to people who follow them, like you're either my friend or you're fucking not. I don't want some shallow in between relationship. I fucking hate how I know I'll never get to jump into discord with the same people every night ever fucking again. God I really fucking hate living right now lmfao. I hate knowing that I'm just another fish in the pond to everyone I know, but moreso that they see EVERYONE like that. The word friend means nothing to them. It makes me so fucking pissed! I can't fucking trust anyone because they only care about clout and twitter followers and being cancelled. I fucking hate all of this shit. I hate being around people who fucking treat me like I'm just another person to them. I'll never be special to anyone ever fucking again and I want to fucking kill myself from loneliness. I never thought I'd be able to say that I have friends yet feel fucking just as lonely as I did without. I don't fucking feel like I mean anything to these people. FUCK.

Hiii thank you so much for replying! Yeah tbh at the beginning that's what I thought too, I thought it's okay to have less but meaningful conversations instead of chatting. But i don't think my mutuals think like me . The one i was closest to, has become soooo distant and I feel like I'm trying too hard to talk to her these days . Maybe i should just accept that this is the end of that friendship and move on 😔 But i feel so bad bcuz this happens all the time. All my mutuals get distant at some point, and it hurts bcuz i always make time for connections? I value online friendships but when people get busy , it's so easy to ghost people on here ☹️ and i know that's how social media should be!! You should always put your real life first and all but ahhhhhhhh idk i just don't apply that in my life ☹️ i guess it's best not to get so close to anyone , and I can avoid getting abandoned 😔 sorry I'm ranting ! It's never useful to distance yourself from others just because you're afraid of getting hurt, all you're doing then is making sure that you hurt yourself before someone else can. And I say that as a capricorn who does the same thing lol! I'm sorry about the distance in your friendship, sometimes it's good to examine the amount of effort you're putting into a relationship vs. the amount of effort the other person in putting in and then determine if you're being appreciated enough in it! But your friend could also be dealing with a lot of their own problems, too (we never really know what someone else is dealing with) so I'd recommend making sure they're okay once before taking that step back from the friendship and if they ever want to reach out again, they'll know you're still there.

I think one way that you can make online friendships more substantial is to be friends with someone over multiple platforms and in different ways so instead of relying on dms on tumblr, you can be friends on instagram (I have oomfs who aren't on tumblr anymore but we follow each other on instagram and I love seeing how they're doing!) or twitter. I think discord's also great for online friendships because you can watch movies or youtube clips together and can even talk/see each other which gives another layer to an online friendship (it's how my irl friends and I would meet up for all of 2020 lol).
