I really hope Tim isn’t lying when he says that Gwen’s death is going to have repercussions for Tk, Owen and Carlos because this storyline needs continuing and not forgotten about or moved on from by next episode 🙃 but I just don’t trust Tim - half the stuff he says doesn’t even happen.

well.. the thing is, we know that the episode following 8 is not going to be heavy on the gwyn/tk stuff (potentially nothing abt it at all bc tks not in the synopsis) bc the show tends to do that– heavy focus on certain characters and then the next they're hardly in it for a while. so i guess it just depends on your expectations for "continuing". my personal hope is that we'll see tk go through some thinking and grieving in this ep and then in future episodes when he gets some real presence again (probably toward the end of the season), it's mentioned or clear that it's still smth he's dealing with. like a lot of people made arguments about charles being killed off and tommy not being given time to mourn, but then we had an episode like 6... which brought it into focus a little, even if we didn't hear about it for quite a few episodes straight between the end of 2 and start of 3. bc that's just how this show deals with the emotional backstory for most characters that aren't owen, and it's not really new info so. getting hopes up about consistent and thorough addressing of grief ep to ep is probably not a good idea.

I wouldn't want a discovering he's bisexual arc, it could be just like a detail that's confirmed. I don't know how to explain it. Like Eleanor Shellstrop being bi is very casual in The Good Place. She doesn't even call herself bi, it's just like a fact. Also she ends up with a guy. Buck is bi in my head, idc about canon that much.

well, i get what you're saying, but i still am not sure they'll ever do it. i'm glad it doesn't matter to you though 😭 it really shouldn't in terms of your enjoyment of a character or personal headcanons. like in a fandom space... you are free with your thoughts to do whatever you want fjldks it’s FUN

but i will say.. a character like eleanor IS bisexual in canon (and has the outside confirmation of the person playing her, costars, and ppl that wrote on the show... even though that's outside of 'canon'.. the intent is evident) and the narrative and dialogue supports it, even if they never use the word itself. there's legit an alternate universe where she's soulmates with tahani... she flirts with and almost kisses simone.. etc etc. eleanor verbally confirms her attraction to women over and over throughout the show. it's not just the butt of a joke or other people talking/joking about it like it is with 911. the intention just isn't there from the writers about his actual character. it would've been easy to slide in a line here or there about him dating men or.. him actually contemplating his attraction to men... saying literally ANYTHING lol. he mostly looks confused every time it gets brought up, and idk how likely that this is to change.

The way you put your answer about the Carlos/Grace scene makes so much sense honestly. I absolutely loved the team up between them and the scenes we got. But I have to think stuff was cut or rewritten to fit Angela in because Carlos’ journey in the episode doesn’t actually make a ton of sense. We didn’t get to see his headspace in and around that loft scene. And we didn’t get much resolution at the end for him either. Grace got to talk it out with Judd, voice her feelings with Carlos, and then even get the last word in with the gamer. Not trying to be negative or critical! I really did love their scenes and enjoyed the episode! I just think it was a bit lacking for him, like you said. I’d say after watching it, that it was really more of a Grace episode than his. And again, not negative, we’ve got some big episodes for him coming up by the looks of it!!

yeah, same! i wasn't totally in love or fully engaged with how they did that whole thing, lol, even though i had fun watching the episode and seeing two of my fave characters interact. i think maybe also the idea itself was kind of weak for the way they presented it? like they kept saying how they used carlos and grace specifically as weapons but... any person on that call kinda was? and i know it's based on real life incidents, and i know they wrote it so carlos is the one to deal with the guy when he ends up dying (which still don't understand with a whole ass SWAT team there? would those people not be on the perimeter too im.. 😭 overanalyzing a network procedural vibes rn my bad) but the writing just didn't sell the personal investment angle for carlos for me. and bc i think about and love the character so much, i know that carlos is someone who wouldn't take that lightly at all. it would REALLY bother him and since it apparently IS the first time that's happened to him (someone dying bc of his actions) i'm confused why that didn't take over the focus of that entire storyline. now i'm thinking about in the live where the were playfully like "no i think it's about YOU and i'm the side support" ... and the way sierra was adamant that it was more carlos than grace..................... that's clearly where the disjointedness comes from bc i don't agree with her lol. i think it should have been, but the show didn’t treat it like that. unless there were cut scenes we didn't see, it wasn't even necessarily the grace show, but i do think she got to express her feelings on it more thoroughly and got more closure and she's not even the one that actually like. caused him to die. it lacked a lot of closure for carlos, who i KNOW would be affected by that and who they clearly hinted at was............ it was just never addressed again which was a little frustrating? and then to kinda.. cram that lack of resolution for the actual lone star characters in the end by having athena catch the guy?????? underwhelming. i doubt it's something they'll touch on for carlos again so.. gonna rely on fandom to fill in the gaps i guess fkldjs.
