absolutely entranced by shows that are majorly silly but still manage to nail the angst
#this is the formula unfortunately that has both mlc and wcl still spinning around in my head#I keep writing wcl posts especially and having to relegate them to my drafts because I'm going on so many tangents#and having seen donghua and live action for wcl keeps me drawing so many comparisons but it's so fascinating#to see which aspects they retained vs which aspects were introduced. and ofc been making my way properly thru the manhua too#(as opposed to reading random panels and checking for donghua comparison reasons) which is just letting me appreciate that#honestly both adaptations are really good at what they do (donghua wrt qsj + lang bailing. cdrama wrt qiubing + side charas)#but yeah for both wcl and mlc they both know and engage with the ridiculousness so when the tone shifts you pay attention#trigun further down the angst scale as default but also a good example of silly-angsty ping pong#ooh dw too actually. okay I shut up now but yeah
