thinking about gonta being very protective of kokichi when they wake up postgame (vr au)

#walking around the dangke ronper rehab centre and after they reconcile its rare to see them apart#they both just looked tired and standoffish and on ouma's side frantic and closed then they - reunite#alone it's tearful and self-blaming and understanding an 'i can't believe you even liked me!' from both ends#them just being shocked and gonta being the one to lean in for a hug and they just break down in each others arms#things will be better#no more death no more matryical self sacrifice just healing and understanding each other#gonta stands up for himself more with pointings from the grape and calls out people treating him like a child#kokichi is now more sure he deserves decency and respect - yeah you may find him annoying but 'Ouma-kun doesn't deserve to be treated like#shit!'#they're both in silent shock after that - Gonta's a bit shocked too but the look in his eyes tells the grape that he's serious#'does ouma burst out laughing?? odlnka not sure yet but they do bond a lot more after that#It's rare to find only one of them whether ouma's helping gokuhara make cookies for team bonding exercises or the entomologist 'stealthily'#placing his arm round the grape during dark movie nights#they are together and a lot more happier than they were when they woke up#this may have delved into ouguku#but like - they love each other platonically really much - at that point its just a matter of time till romantic love sprouts too#or blooms even more than it has#they find peace and respect w/ each otherrrr#while both working through their matyrical tendencies akjdnsd
