Here’s my kinda prediction for how Bad’s antagonist arc really kicks off:
He’s said that he’s gonna keep stealing furniture, and he’s carrying a lot of spite towards forever. The two of them will probably talk soon, but cc!bad will not let the drama die until he’s done what he came to do, so the miscommunication will keep running wild. Bad will probably pull his first/most meaningful furniture heist at forever’s (if it’s not his first, he’ll probably go for the people who voted to illegalize furniture theft first). Just as he’s about to leave, cucurucho or some federation person (or foolish oooh angst) will come and arrest him for his crimes.
At this point he’ll be in a prison, maybe something happens here, idk, but eventually, forever comes in to talk with him one-on-one, to try to work things out. No one but the two who can’t ever seem to understand each other’s viewpoints, despite ultimately working toward the same goal. Forever offers what he thinks to be an olive branch, a chance for Bad to have a say in the government, perhaps (or something. Either way, it’s a deal that forever wants to make). To Forever, it’s a peace offering, a last grasping reach for his friend, but to Bad, it’s just another smack in the face, because it proves that no one’s been listening to anything he’s been saying. He refuses, and maybe after an argument, forever walks away. Bad is alone, with no kids to talk to him, and remind him that people do care, no pomme or baghera to act as a voice of reason. Just bad, alone in a jail cell given to him by his own trusted friends. And that’s the moment he definitively decides he’s done with everything.
He gets out. Maybe it’s an escape, maybe the feds decide he’s served enough time (maybe they’re just trying to sow conflict and see that they’ve gotten the result they wanted), but either way, he gets out. He walks home (I mean realistically he wouldn’t, but itd be so cinematic) Inside, his kids, maybe his friends, are waiting for him, to tell him how they missed him, how they care about him, but he walks past. Down a red and black hallway. Past white winged angels and jagged doors. To a huge, pointed, threatening chair-
No.
A throne. A throne for the new lonely king of his side of the island.
As his family looks on with concern, Bad cuts everyone out of his life in one fell swoop by removing the waystone that says HOME in friendly capital letters.
If they know what’s good for them, they’ll stay out.
