A/N: Inspired by me constantly getting told that I "randomly drop lore". My friends didn't know that I played the piano until one day I saw a piano at my friend's place (her dad is a piano teacher) and I decided to play a nocturne. Hope you enjoy!

The members have seen a compass in Mn's pocket or in his bag while rummaging through it for snacks, but they didn't know he always had it.

"Why though?" was the question of a confused Jeongin.

"My neurophysiology professor gave it to me when I graduated. It means a lot to me since I didn't really receive a lot of gifts when I was younger. And he was such a good teacher."

The answer was met with gasps and widened eyes from the members. They didn't know their goofball of a member learned neuroscience. Hell, they didn't even know he went to university.

"WHAT?"

"PROFESSOR???"

"NEUROPHYSIOLOGY? THE FUCK??"

Mn appeared as a special guest in Han's live. He was ranting about Achilles Come Down which was the song he recommended to be played on Chan's room last week. That's when he noticed a comment.

"Je vous aime tellement les gars ! Tu es honnêtement le meilleur et je ne peux pas te le dire assez"

He reads it out without a struggle and replies back in French.

"Merci beaucoup! Cela signifie beaucoup et j'espère que vous apprécierez également notre prochain album"

Han's eyes widened in surprise.

The comments started flooding in as well, completely thrown off by the sudden language change. No one knew he spoke French. They should've gotten used to the random lore dropping from Mn, though.

He really was busy, with the neurology major, but that little smirk, the slight flush of his cheeks, and the bit of regret in saying that last statement was what made Chan raise a brow. There were a lot of times were Mn held his tongue when asked about ahem...experience.

"Yeah? What were you so busy with?"

"..My major, obviously. Now, get up."

Chan chuckled, getting up from his chair. "Nothing to smirk about in neurology, I'm sure."

"No one finds out about this, or I'll use my shooting skills on you."

Mn was sitting with the rest of his members to react to his first solo song's MV. He wasn't exactly overjoyed by the idea, feeling awkward about seeing himself on screen. If it was a group MV, he could at least roast the others to get rid of the embarrassment of seeing whatever the directors told him to do on screen.

The screen fades in to a beautiful stage, an empty concert hall, occupied only by Mn who was painted with beautiful makeup and doing ballet. Gracefully, but the pain and insanity in his eyes is evident. Black Swan was the song.

"I...didn't know you did ballet."

Mn shrugged. His dance trainer knew, and honestly, he was glad the members found out this way. It was funny seeing their reactions.

I pulled the album up this morning to remind myself what was on it and was like, oh, just all the songs I had on repeat in college cool cool cool.

I'm breaking this into 2 lists. My instinctive choices, and then the revised one after I listened to the album completely on the way home today. Fun fact, it's exactly the length of my commute excluding the second play of Mirotic. Also, I did the regular album version, not the special edition.

After playing, and with explanation:

1. Mirotic (this one I may as well technically exclude from the list because it's its own entity). I know this song is scoffed at lately even by Cassies, but idgaf. It was my first music video of theirs, it's what made me fall in love with them, it was my first look at Yunho and the ruination for my standard for men everywhere. Mirotic means too much to me to ever hate.

2. Love in the Ice. She's my favorite tvxq ballad. She's everything. I slowed down to the speed limit near the end of my drive today so she could finish, that's how much I love her. She never fails to make me sob, and today was no exception. Probably the only tvxq song I don't really want to hear a re-recorded duo version of, and that is saying a ton.

3. Wrong Number: classic, iconic, sexy. Suits!!!!!!! I don't have the Yunho focus mv version saved on a hard drive what are you talking about????.....

4. You're My Melody: this one and Picture of You were in a fight before I even listened to the album, but this one did indeed hit me a little bit more. I think I just connect it more to college days.

5. Hey! Don't Bring Me Down: more iconic moves. I seem to recall camo pants and black tank tops. It was always on my work out playlists back in the day. A jam.

6. Picture of You: I think Hey! beat it out only because I lean more toward upbeat intense songs in general. Still a lovely, nostalgic song

7. Are You a Good Girl: the last one I was right about in my instinct choices. Similar to Hey! in that I want to jam. Diggidumdum.

8. Paradise: This one started and I was like OH RIGHT YESSS and immediately pushed it up in my brain. I think the top 7 are just so intrinsically a part of my kpop awakening and college experience, that that's why the last 5 are where they are. So many tvxq songs are basically written on my bones, though.

9. Forgotten Season: when this one started I was like hmmmm I kind of remember it? But I'm ambivalent. And then I was like, oh okay. Jae solo. And then as usually happens when I listen to Jaejoong sing, he hit a note that made me go OH MY GOD FINNNNEEEE 😭😭😭 and rank it higher. Still one of my fave voices in all of kpop.

10. Flower Lady: I remembered this one better than I thought I would. Very pretty and sweet.

11. Crazy Love: I heard this one for the first time IN AGES the other day, so I thought it would be higher out of nostalgia. But it's just okay for an upbeat song.

12. Rainbow: no shade, bb. I'm a firm believer that tvxq, whether as 5 or 2, don't have a bad song to their name. But this one isn't one of my faves. Pretty standard filler imo.

There it is. The ranking. It HURT but also I'm kind of cool with my instinctive choices being pretty accurate. It's a king of albums situation, and I love it so.

I love all the songs you mentioned as well! totally biased opinion, but I think seventeen has one of the best discographies in kpop. there are maybe one or two songs that I usually skip but other than that I love all of them ahah

I think I first started making gifs around 2011-2012? I joined tumblr because of doctor who and saw a tutorial on how to make gifs - I tried it out and it was quite fun, so when I rejoined tumblr around 2017 and created a kpop blog I started making gifs again first for groups like shinee and wonder girls and then for seventeen too. however, I only started creating gfxs after I made this blog, I saw so many great creations of other carats and was inspired to make my own 😊 my dad is a graphic designer and he taught me how to use photoshop a long time ago but I mostly used it for photo editing ahah

I love making gfx, way more than making gifs, but it's been a while since I posted something here because I feel that nothing looks good ahah I have lost my touch, I believe. I do have the urge to delete everything I made each time I go on my gfx tag ahah

I love drawing too, but it's also quite dangerous for me because once I start a new project I can't stop until I'm done ahah and since I I can't take time off of work to draw, I usually only do it when I'm on holiday

my favourite seventeen concept? fallin' flower and home;run, probably. everything about fallin' flower is perfect, the song, the choreo and the whole vibe of the mv, but I also liked the theme for the home;run mv, it was fun and so seventeen (if that makes sense?). I'm just sad that they didn't reflect it in the album design too 😔

honestly they already fulfilled my every wish with fallin' flower when it comes to concepts, so it's hard for me to answer this question. however, I really liked the concept for their photobook 'social club' so maybe something similar would be cool? or maybe something inspired by a noir movie?

1. pink moon day. 💖 i don't know what possessed me but after being in a gfx slump since the start of the year i just made one of my favourite things for jonghyun's birthday this year. really relistening to the she is album brought me so much joy and creative inspiration and i just. put all of it into this edit. i am so happy with it i can rest my brain for a while now lmao.

2. hai cheng mv. 🌊 minghao saw my sad boy playlist and me listening to jun's silent boarding gate every day for hours and he said he wants to be in there too. i didn't plan to gif that day but the mv and song are so gorgeous, i really wanted to put something of it on my blog. this set is very much the al brand.

3. epitaph posters. 🕯 my men returned to me with a japanese release and it sort of put everyone else to shame. SO WELL. i had to do something about it bc the teaser photos were also just gorgeous. here is my unofficial application @ SM to work on their design team (jk). anyways, stream epitaph by tohoshinki, besties <3 (also yes, i did those posters for their solo albums first lmao)

4. thrill-ing redesign. 🌴 was thrill ride the first tbz song i ever heard? yes. was it awful? also yes. but the rest of the album was surprisingly fun to listen to (i recommend nightmares) and after doing a bit of a redesign for maverick, i wanted to do something for this too. sort of like some comic books concept.

5. thanks mv 💿 i don't know, i always feel like this song sounds exactly like its lyrics and the mv looks exactly like the song sounds. the mv brings me so much peace and it's so gorgeous. and i just had the urge to gif it. svt really have some of the most gorgeous mv's.

bonus: junhao hug 🧡 my i duo reunited and this moment was just the sweetest ever and i am also happy with how these gifs turned out. made me feel as warm as that hug.

What was your first experience with internet fandom and subculture?

Well hello there! That's a very interesting question, thank you.

Honestly, I can't really remember. Partly because I've been a literal child when I first got into contact with fandoms, my memory is not the best, and because I'm currently very tired. So, you know, things aren't exactly ideal.

But, if I'm not mistaken, the first time I consumed internet "fandom content" was way back then for Super Smash Bros (Brawl) (and technically also TLoZ, but not as much). Can't remember much from that time, I just enjoyed looking at fanart, animations, compilations, etc. "Looking" being quite literally, since like I said, I was a child, and barely understood any English. (There was this one SSBB animation/MV/whatever though, it was about Link and Pikachu and the Vocaloid song "Melt" was playing in the background. For some reason, I liked it so much that it entered my long term memory.)

But the first time I actually engaged in a fandom space was Detective Conan/Case Closed. It was very popular, so there was a fandom in my native language as well. I read/wrote FanFics, talked to other people about it on a website that has been shut down for almost 10 years now, participated in roleplays, made video and picture edits. All that. And everything has been quite positive! The website I was most active on was for younger people, so we were all a bit naive back then, and the only time I didn't interact with people roughly my own age was when I uploaded my writing on a FanFic website, but even then, the reviews were full of tips on how to be better. It was a very good time.
