“Mutou-san?”

It feels like Toshio’s living in a town full of ghosts. Even now, as his gaze meets the eyes of the young Tohru Mutou, Toshio has to blink to readjust his vision, as if he can’t believe what he’s seeing. ...In some ways, he still can’t.

Maybe none of it’s real - and he’s just gone mad. That thought almost gets a wry smile out of him, though he’s sure that Tohru wouldn’t understand the joke even if he explained it. He wonders, that if that’s really true, just when it is he fell into that madness? It’s impossible to say.

But nonetheless - Toshio conceals his morbid thoughts behind an inquisitive expression, acting as if nothing is wrong. He knows he won’t be around for much longer, but... there’s no need to worry this kid about something he won’t understand.

“Did you need something? Feeling sick?”
