yeah um No actually i think that any1 who reads macbeth as “good guy who’s manipulated into murder by his ambitious wife who Uses him” should 1. die 2. be forbidden from speaking about this play Ever bc ur doing Both of those characters a disservice

#j.txt #macbeth #been looking stuff up for a Post and well- i Saw Things #+just been thinking about this lately #and how so many like. discussions about ladymac lack this nuance #and don't try to get to the ROOT of her character beyond oooo she's evil and cold and etc #and the not-so-subtle misogyny of it #this one-dimensional interpretation that puts all the blame on her makes macbeth a hero #his flaw here is simple cowardice which makes us pity him and hate ladymac who took advantage of it #if we dare to see past this lady macbeth evil take-- perhaps even dare to say it isn't even true-- we see her as a full nuanced character #and when that happens macbeth regains blame for what he does #his downfall is entirely his. and we have no Evil Woman to blame for it.#this is not rly @ anything i saw on tumblr particularly but like. on youtube and such
