“I also think that the tepid response to Kong Skull Island and maybe losing Bond made him give up on that and lose even more of his mojo and now Loki is a sure bet for him.”
This. Except idk if it was solely KSI. Those years after the first Avengers and the solo promo work for The Dark World, he was working nonstop: Only Lovers Left Alive, Crimson Peak, I Saw the Light, and High Rise. There were high expectations for all those movies and none of them delivered. KSI didn’t perform as well as expected, plus the whole thing with Lizzie Olsen (and the accusations he went after an engaged woman). OLLA was a tiny movie that wasn’t going to get seen anyway, but clashes with the director (caught on film) may not have served him. Crimson Peak’s promo was botched. ISTL suffered from poor direction, even if his performance was great. And HR, like OLLA, was an indie movie, an out there one at that, that wasn’t going to have much of a general public impact.
Most of these weren’t solely his fault, but it also didn’t help him. A friend and I have always believed the amount of effort he’d put in, only to see each of those films fail, messed with his head big time. We also think it’s what led to him doing the SOT, as a way to get his name out there. With anyone else, it might’ve succeeded. But not vetting Snake better led to…well, the Summer of Terror.
Idk, like one of your other anons, I’ve stuck around and tho I don’t hate the Loki series as much as others do, I’m kind of tired of him playing Loki.
I want him to be discerning with the things he chooses to be in, but I also want him to be in things 😆! Every actor is in shows and movies that don’t get any awards or real buzz, but to never be in anything is the way to get forgotten.

Postal Complaint: Received Damaged Goods Again - Whumptober 2022
I've started with Mary Wardwell again like I did last year (this poor woman, istl). There's a chapter dedicated to content warnings at the start of this for all CAoS pieces currently in this thing here:

The "Miss Softbroom" episode is disgusting, actually. How y'all can sit and watch while kids with very little potions experience (and thus a higher chance of fucking something up and causing yet more irreversible damage to whoever ingests the potion) literally drug a woman who was shown to be on the verge of a complete meltdown, then say shit like, "this is her true self," and mean it, is beyond me.
The worst part about that episode? Nobody fucking told Hecate what had happened after she'd taken the reversal potion. They were all content to keep it a secret to avoid her becoming a "real monster," about it, and dealing out some actual punishment without Ada Cackle there to soften the blow and give them something less (or make the experience of waiting for their fate to be decided less) than what they deserve.
She deserves so much better smh.
