imagine not being able to embrace new content for the thing you like bc you like it so much that you've put up huge walls around it and have decided that no one, not even the creators or the artists those creators have given their blessing to, may come in and alter or expand your understanding of the thing you claim to enjoy

#this isn't about when a series goes in a direction that is obviously and upsettingly divergent from canon as a result of a cash grab #this is about star wars bros #this is about dragon age fans #this is about all of us--check yourselves and compare who you were when you wished there was more content and who you are when it exists #it is okay when people have different opinions than you and it is okay when those people make official content #as much as their vision does psychic damage to you.... be aware that YOUR vision does psychic damage to others!!#and you're not right just because you believe in something! you just have a vision! and that's fine #but it's also just as valid as other people's visions #this rant brought to you by fan discussion i've seen recently where people who are 'huge fans' of a thing are posting about it as if #the very idea of more content for the thing is disgusting to them #they end up really looking like they hate the thing #which sucks to be around IN A FANDOM #where you know we're all trying to find companionship in how much we like a thing #just #idk man maybe if you find yourself being really negative about your fandom you should distance yourself from it bc it's clearly #not bringing you joy #rant over thanks for bearing with
