the best(worst) retri route for chen is step succesfully saving their body and i think about that ending a healthy amount
#am i biased because its caines canon route?#yes absolutely#imagine being wei chen#visiting the hospital after step and ortega crash to try keep step safe#imagine being /marshal steel/#and losing to a seemingly unmodded unboosted henchman that kidnaps the person you were supposed to protect from right under your nose#he promised himself he would protect step and he /failed/ and he has nobody else to blame but himself#and then he has to break the news to ortega#TRY to keep them from killing themeselves hunting for step#keep the fraying team under control#of course try to search for step–and this is discounting the fact that step has probably become friends(or more) to him atp#this whole thing would be even worse if chen told step about the autopsy pics#this route is a rehash of everything that happened post hb and i hope the deja vu fucks him up 👍#chen
