my stance on klayley is that there’s lingering romantic feelings somewhere in there that comes from their connection as survivors & ruthless protectors, them having a child together and the understanding/companionship that comes with that and just general physical attraction to each other given the hook up. but there’s also friendship and family love, and then there’s anger and resentment and betrayal and it all gets snowballed into one big feeling that can’t be compartmentalized. and the bond and love is strong enough that it can survive in any form, be it friends, family or romantic partners. maybe it could be all three, but for the show, it just wasn’t gonna lead with the romance part for them and i’m satisfied with that, and i would’ve still been satisfied if they did have them officially get together and be endgame. when i think about them and what could’ve been vs what we did get it feels less like i’m missing out and more like: they love each other in every universe and in every universe that love looks a little bit different.
