after a particularly hard practice, abby comes home to you taking your midday nap. she slips her gym bag off her shoulder and tiptoes to the dresser, pulling out a pair of sleep shorts and a shirt. she internally thanks herself for taking a full shower after practice so she can quickly slide into bed with you. you’re on your back on your side of the bed and abby settles in, putting her head on your chest. you startle and abby feels bad but practically starts purring when you begin playing with her drying strands of hair. she presses a warm kiss to your collarbone in greeting as her body relaxes into yours and you’re both asleep in no time.

1. Who are you named after?

I was named after my mom's younger sister, Kirstin. When they were growing up, no one could pronounce Aunt K’s name, so Mom thought that if she spelled mine “Kyrsten” the y would make it easier to sound out (but honestly I think it just confuses people more).

2. Last time you cried?

So our student center has a Starbucks, and Sunday morning I went to get a coffee--not anything fancy, just a plain black dark roast. I had gotten maybe four or five hours of sleep combined for the last two nights and I was fricking psyched for this coffee, but as I walked out of the building my hand decided that it didn’t want to hold the cup anymore, and I spilled it all over the front steps of the student center. I was so upset, like get rekt me.

3. Do you like your handwriting?

Sometimes? I wish it was neater, honestly. It’s kinda loopy and I switch in and out of cursive and it’s a little bit of a mess lol

4. What is your favorite lunch meat?

Turkey ftw

5. Do you have kids?

No. I can’t really picture myself ever having them tbh but who knows

6. Do you use sarcasm?

Way more than I probably should

7. Do you still have your tonsils?

Yerp

8. Would you bungee jump?

I want to be the kind of person that’d say yes to this...but I don’t think I could do it. I’m scared of heights and I’m not much of a daredevil.

9. What is your favorite kind of cereal?

Recently I’ve been eating Boring Adult Cereal like the Kashi Protein stuff. When I was younger it was Frosted Flakes, though. Goddamn did I love Frosted Flakes.

10. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?

It depends on the shoe mostly. I do for my boots and my running sneakers but my Converse are a couple years old now so they just slide on and off and it’s wonderful.


11. Do you think you’re strong?

Ummmm, probably? Most of my strength is more physical than emotional. I’m not in the best shape of my life or anything but since practices for rugby started up I’ve been getting back into it. Emotionally...well, I just admitted to crying over dropping my coffee so y’all can see where that’s at.

12. What is your favorite ice cream?

Mint! Literally any variation of mint.

13. What is the first thing you notice about someone?

This might be weird but usually it’s a person’s hair. If it’s long or short, if it’s long whether they have it up or down, what color it is, stuff like that.

14. Football or Baseball?

Neither if I’m being honest. If I had to pick probably baseball--my sister played softball for years and even though they’re not *exactly* the same I think I’d be more familiar with baseball than football.

15. What is the least favorite thing about yourself?

I’m not very social and I’m pretty shy, so it takes me awhile to make friends. I think I’m friendly once you get to know me or if you talk to me first, but I rarely will initiate conversations or put myself in situations where I have to socialize. 

16. What color pants are you wearing?

Black (leggings for pants ayyy)

17. Favorite smell?

I love the smell of old basements and garages.

18. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?

My sister! Her and my mom are coming out for a college visit near my school so I’ll get to see them tonight/tomorrow morning :)

19. Favorite sport to watch on TV?

Any sport that I’ve played before or that I can follow easily (field/ice hockey, lacrosse, swimming, etc.)

20. Hair color?

Currently black, subject to change

21. Eye color?

Blue-green (They’re not just one color so I never know what to put. I guess technically that makes them hazel?)


22. Favorite food to eat?

Pasta! I don’t get to have it very often though

23. Scary or funny movies?

Definitely scary movies. There are very few comedies that I actually like, so even though I'm not a fan of scary movies either I’ll pick them.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Light grey

Christmas or Halloween
