For some reason that I can’t begin to fathom, tonight* I decided to ask myself, would the characters of EGS be Precure fans? And I’m just gonna run with that thought for a minute because why not. Grace and Ashley both absolutely are. It just feels like their kind of thing. Sarah isn’t particularly interested but Grace talked her into watching it with her because Grace’s excitement is infectious. Justin and Diane have never heard of such things but if they did their reaction would be “Not for me, but let people have their fun.” Tedd, Elliot, and Ellen all thought it wasn’t their kind of anime (Elliot and Ellen don’t even really watch anime iirc), but then each of them was passing through the room when a fight scene came on and they were transfixed for about ten seconds before sitting down and watching the rest of the episode without further comment. And they probably all did it consecutively, within the span of one episode, because it’d be funnier that way. I think Susan is slightly insulted by the extreme stereotypical femininity of magical girls in general but she saw how the Precure can punch and decided that was feminist enough to be acceptable. Still not a fan, though. I’m not super sure about Nanase but I feel like she’d see the others watching it and get a weird kind of jealous, like “Come on, I can do anything they can: I transform to power up, I punch giant monsters in the face, my hair is a primary colour, I’m even gay for crying out loud, what more do you people want.” Ironically, she’s the only one who can still follow the plot when she’s not watching the screen. Oh, and I think Cure Custard would be Grace’s favourite.
