the scene with shauna and lottie's dad broke my heart but it's also just another example of shauna grieving someone, who's death she undoubtedly blames herself for, by taking their place. both to feel closer to them and as a form of penance. oh shauna...

May I suggest. When Odysseus was talking to Diomedes about Palamedes (and asking to deal with him together) he insisted on what happened with Telemachus "you understand its my duty as a father to do it. Any father would do that for his son" bc he knows playing on Dio's daddy issues is the best way to have him to take his side.

It worked. But odysseus then felt horrible for using such a sneaky way, almost manipulation, with his friend.

the only thing better than the fact that Hoshi has two songs about his representative animal is the fact that they are:

1 - Horangi power, which is about how he's the coolest, chillest tiger-ey guy who loves tigers and tiger pattern and tiger cereal, and please don't call him a hamster 'cause he doesn't like it :(

2 - Horangi which is about being the fierce last tiger of South Korea, released on national tiger day, in the year of the tiger, featuring artist Tiger JK.

Thinking about the First Floor adults...

Do you think some of them don't have much drive to move up further, because they can't come to terms with the fact that they killed their living doll? Do you think once the effects of the unification coffee wear off they begin to understand the implication of unification and just have to live with that guilt their whole life? Maybe they don't have the drive to move up further, because they know if they do, they'll actively have to contribute in the selection and then unification process.

Adults, from what we've seen, don't seem to get brainwashed anymore, at least that's my impression since they know they are being brainwashed, and they seem to know living dolls are humans (I mean they must know since they go to select them). So I'd expect at least a few of them to feel guilty about basically being forced to kill a person.

And even if they don't fully understand the situation, we've seen shadows being extremely close with their living dolls, even before breaking the brainwashing ("You couldn't possibily be implying that Douglas was the only one who thought we were friends forever!!" > from chapter 202, Douglas already thought Doug was his best friend even before knowing he was a human). So even if they don't understand they killed someone, I still imagine that some of them would regret erasing their best friend/soulmate/companion's existence.

If you think about it it's very tragic. All the adults we've seen, take part in the process withouth second thoughts (even in Lewis case, although he's opposed to GGF, he doesn't seem to oppose the unification process). The only form of regret we've seen was Christopher's, but he died and already knew Anthony was a human. So I think it could have been interesting to explore this regret from someone wo actually went trough with the unification. And I think First Floor adults fit this exploration very well. Not all of them, but at least a few, being stuck in this system that forced them to kill one of the most important people in their life (the most important one in a lot of cases). Not really able to do anything, but to lay low and not contribute any further, because if they rebel they'll be disposed of. Just having to live with guilt and loss.

He poured seaspring water out of his kettle during his first scene, he's got cups everywhere. In his birthday art, his cup is the only one filled w red liquid that I assume is seaspring water.

Does Ocudeus make him keep drinking? Does he have to keep drinking regardless? Is his continued consumption what's causing him to slowly lose his mind? Bc ain't no way he just like how it tastes

OH my god. "yes horrible things happened to shauna, but they were the consequences of her own actions" in reference to her horribly traumatic miscarriage and/or jackie's death. lets really think about that first one for a second. 🧠✨️

was it her fault that she got pregnant? well. she had consensual, unprotected sex multiple times. so, yes. does it then follow that it was merely "the consequences of her own actions" that her baby was stillborn and she had to hold the body, covered in her own blood, for days while she lay sick and starving in the middle of the wilderness? NO?? WTF ARE YOU SAYING? would you ever propose than any other woman out in the real world who has a miscarriage or stillborn is merely seeing "the consequences of their own actions" because she may have chosen the part where she had sex and got pregnant? no you wouldn't. so it's a crazy thing to say when it happens to a teenage girl stranded in the woods.

and on the jackie note, jackie is no villain okay. they were both dumb teenage girls who were careless with one another and who lashed out at each other during a highly traumatic experience. yes the fight was about jeff, but shauna did not force her to sleep outside. she merely snapped back when jackie attempted to force her to sleep outside. and the argument that shauna let her sleep out there and didn't fold and go out to convince her to come back doesn't really work for placing the blame squarely on her shoulders when there were 14 other people in the room who made the exact same choice.
