Of course it had been the article. The amount of times people had misquoted him, or took what he said out of context, only to use it in a different way, a way to suit their needs in a magazine were too many too count. "You're going to have to trust me, love. If you can't put your trust in what I'm telling you, then what sort of relationship do we have?" His hands reached for her face, cupping her cheeks. "The things they said, they didn't quote me correctly, definitely took what I said out of context and jumbled it all up. I guess it sells more magazines to write about a race car driver being a ladies man. I don't care what they say because I'm in love with you. I don't have time for any other people, nor do I want them." He stepped in closer and rested his forehead against hers. "And who cares what I do or what you do for a living? My father was a racer, and my mother had a normal job, and they've always been together."
"I know it seems hard to believe that I'm being honest, truthful. There are probably plenty of people trying to convince you otherwise, but all I can do is tell you my side. I can try to prove it to you... but what you do with that information is your choice." He kissed her forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment before resting his forehead against hers once more. "It's your decision."
