CLOSED STARTER FOR @tctteredwings ft. Olivier
Bijan wasn’t new to power outages and cuts, not new to making his way through New York City - or any other place he’d visited before - completely reliant on his own wits. However, his foot hadn’t experienced this before, and it certainly wasn’t happy about Bijan dragging it through the city streets looking for any place that was open or at least offered some food. His own home being out of food, he was hoping the world would offer him something. He’d made it four blocks before he had to lean against a wall to take a breather. When a person walked by, Bijan was quick to catch their attention. “Excuse me, young man, would you perhaps be tech-savvy enough to help me find a place that’s still open through all of this? I’m looking for any place with food that’s inside and offering some warmth, my own place has sadly given in to the outage.” Was that too much information, Bijan was too hungry to care. He counted on the goodness of the people in this city.

@proeliums ft. Oliver @ the streets
"Oli, bhai, what are you up to?" Veer simply appeared at Oliver's side, whether the other had noticed them already or would be surprised by the sudden appearance, he didn't give a shit. Veer was feeling chaotic, and it led to moments of spurred action. To approach a fellow snake on the streets, openly, while dressed like a Bollywood star - truly they'd missed their calling - wasn't something they'd do on their off days.
Certainly only something to do on their chaotic days. "You look like you need a distraction, weather getting you down? Cold getting you down? Am I just reading into it? Yes, Oli, yes I am, I need a pick-me-up, you are my company."

Bijan walked slower than normally, making sure to put his stick there where he figured it would not be too dangerous. He didn’t mind the snow, it was mostly the ice that he was afraid of. His foot also didn’t really like the cold, he’d noticed, it pained him more on days when it was cold than during the summer. Making him miss going home. “Very well,” he said, with a smile. He had never minded the silence, there were always instances when he’d rather have a conversation, but he was an introvert through-and-through. He was a little winded from walking all this way, but he still attempted to give a full answer. “My building has lost electricity,” he admitted. “I have a little radiator, but I don’t want it to run out too soon, and I could really use a warm meal, or at least a warm coffee,” he explained. “How about you? Are you heading anywhere warm or to work?”

As Oli headed in the direction of the places he'd seen open, he took his time, not wanting to make any attempt at rushing, as he did way too often. "Don't worry, I don't think anyone's really going to walk too fast in this anyway... and that includes me," he responded with a slight shake of his head. "What have you been up to today that's got you caught out here?" He figured he'd make some kind of attempt at conversation as they walked, not one to enjoy silence in moments like these. The silence could quickly become awkward and he hated that.

Bijan sighed. He should’ve thought about that, of course independent places didn’t have the infrastructure available to set that all up, and he was too much of a fan of independent places. More so than big franchises like McDonalds, though perhaps that was his one option. He lost hope a little until the other perked up. “Ah, that would be most kind!” he said, face visibly brightening. Though Bijan was clearly an introvert, with tendencies to be alone and lock himself up, he did not at all mind the company right now. At least it would be a welcome distraction from the cold and the black out. “Please lead the way, I will be a bit slow, but I will be on your trail,” he admitted, as he started after the stranger, leaning heavily on his stick as he navigated the snow.

"Some of them, sure," answered Oliver with a nod of his head. "But I guess a lot of independent places probably can't afford it." It was a shame, but also the reality of these kinds of situation, only the rich and very well prepared could actually continue on. At the question, though, he perked up and nodded his head. "I saw a couple a block or so away," he answered. "I can show you if that helps. Honestly, I could probably use some coffee and some food now someone's mentioned it." He chuckled very softly, and then gestured the way he'd come from, beginning to walk a moment later.

Bijan nodded, perhaps he had begun to rely too much on the internet and how fast it was, at least in his mind, compared to making a phone call. He knew that before Christmas was even around the corner, most companies had a statement on when they’d be open during the holidays. He liked having google, even if when it came to a search like this, he wasn’t sure he had the mental strength nor the battery power. “There has to be, I agree. Surely companies still have back-up generators, at least some of them.” He looked around, leaning heavily on his cane. “Have you seen any, by any chance?”

So far the day had turned out to be pretty chaotic. Oliver had left the gallery and started the long trek back home again, and a long trek it had been so far, the subway giving out and being forced to start walking along the icy streets, pretty much knowing that he was unlikely to make it back there tonight. The longer he was out, the more he realised he was going to have to head to the family hotel. When he heard the voice, he looked back over his shoulder, a small smile appearing on his features. "I could try, but I don't know if there are too many places who would have had a chance to update on if they're open or not..." he answered. At least, not past Facebook anyway. "There's got to be somewhere around here, though."
