where: a small wooden pier nestled in the rocks, down from Kismet Beach
with: Aindreis Blythe ( @aindreisblythe )
The wooden pier wasn't a secret to most locals, but it was tucked so far out of the way, with a rocky scramble of a walk away from the beach, that it was a typically quiet place to swim and to fish (not at the same time) when the weather and the tide allowed.
Roman found himself there today, fishing. It was his day off, and a rare day of sun and no wind, and he wanted to get out of the farm. So here he was, doing his best to sit with his thoughts and feelings... he'd been avoiding it for so long, but his therapist and friends had encouraged him to try it since the break-up.
He was busy watching the quiet sea, the soft waves lapping at the pier and the rocks around him when he suddenly hearing rocky movement behind him, and he turned to spot someone familiar. He raised his arm in greeting, waving. He was surprised to see someone out here, and more surprised by who it was.

It felt strange to be back. He had been gone for a while, for good reasons so he wasn't complaining. They had announced his return to the office per the start of september and he would ease in with a few appointments in the first week and schedule the rest. So there he was, easing in on the monday with just the paperwork and reading through the notes of his colleague who had replaced him for his sessions when he heard the door from the front of the practice open and close. He wasn't expecting anyone, so decided to investigate. He was mid movement of removing the glasses from the bridge of his nose when he recognised Aindreis, whom he welcomed with a smile. "Andy. I did not see you on the schedule." His accent rang through the corridor. @aindreisblythe

location: LGBTQIA+ hang out
Renee had been going more frequently to hang out with members of the local community. She found a certain safety with them and could often pick their brains, in a hypothetical way. Upon realizing her feelings for Prue, the last thing she wanted was for that information to get back to Prue without it coming directly from Renee herself. "Chips?" Renee held out the bag as she walked up to Aindreis, a member she had met through the community. "Just regular, nothing crazy," she had figured she would play it safe. "Did you go to the movie, too or just for the after hang out?"

January 11th, Ali and Aindreis' flat downtown.
Almost two years ago, in February 2022, you'd survived a storm, but barely. Aindreis could still remember finding you in your bathroom, drenched to the bone, shaking like a leaf and trying to hold back tears, unsuccessfully. The water you'd always been wary off almost had you. You'd also drowned. He still felt a pinch in his heart whenever he remembered that the sea he loved so much had invaded his hometown and almost taken you with her. Things had been made worse by the fact that, trying to reassure you, he'd uttered the first 'i love you' and taken it back a few days later in fear that it wasn't reciprocated. He hated to think that, looking back at the past year, you'd barely made progress in your communication.
Aindreis hadn't realised how much this all impacted him. Sure, it'd been a horrible time but he wasn't the one going through the horrible stuff. He'd been at home, on the 3rd floor, reading a book with a candle. But this was all awakened yesterday. Yeah, they'd warned of some wind picking up but you hadn't taken it that seriously. You'd said you needed to go the mall, so you did and Andy stayed at home, working on his computer now that he was back at work. But then wind started getting bad and he just had to go pick you up. He'd taken the car, which he seldom did willingly, and tried to go get you. But between the strong winds and his genuine discomfort with driving, he couldn't make it to destination. Instead, he'd spent the whole evening mopping around, pacing in desperate search for any hint of a connection on his phone, in a farm. Logically, he tried to think that there was no reason anything like last time could happen. It wasn't a flood, it was just wind. But he was spiralling and definitely thinking all kinds of worse case scenario. Especially when it seemed like such bad timing. You were finally making progress, both by yourselves and in couple's therapy. Not even that he thought something horrible happened to you, but last time it almost cost you your relationship, between the fights and your impromptu trip. This couldn't happen again.
When things had calmed down, he'd called you and picked you up. Even after checking everything was alright, he could tell something was off. He was too exhausted to talk about it on the spot and the next day, he was walking on eggshells, which was exactly what you'd promised not to do to each other. So, after your days at work, he'd let himself fall on the couch next to you and put his head on your shoulder. "Is everything alright?" He asked, more prudently than he'd have wanted. Both to erase the hesitation in his voice and counter any fake outs, he added a soft, "Nebula?"

It wasn't too often that Josiah got to take his Australian Shepherd Xena out for a run or to play in the dog park. With is work hours managing the parks, he was often times outside for work only, and the short walk he managed to get in with Xena in between work and dinner. So he'd made a promise to not only his dog but to himself that his next day off he would take her to the dog park and let her play. As he threw a tennis ball, he looked up as he spotted Aindreis. Offering the other a wave as he took the ball from Xena and threw it again, he laughed, watching as she chased another dog in circles, clearly having the time of her life. "I hope that's not your dog she's torturing." Josiah spoke, apologizing slightly. "I know our dogs have interacted before, but, I'm sad to say I can't remember what kind of dog you have." he laughed.

event: 4th of July Carnival
where: Pizzamegedon Booth
with: Aindreis Blythe ( @aindreisblythe )
A town event with food stalls and food trucks was a perfect chance to check out the competition. Roman already had his list, and he was determined to try everyone at least once. Today, it was Pizzamegedon for lunch, and Nancy's for dinner. He was trying to choose between having two slices or three. Obviously, he had to get pepperoni with jalapeno, and he had a soft spot for Hawaiian with mushroom, but the chicken with peppers and corn looked good too.

who: Aindreis Blythe
where: Family Fun Center
Despite the fact that the sun was shining outside, Josiah had made his way to the family fun center, finally getting around to checking it out since he arrived almost a year ago. He'd finished making his way through it and was on his way to lunch, something he'd become quite accustomed to during his time here. As he was making his way downtown - Pizzageden was his preference today - he moved down the sidewalk, reading over the menu as he walked. He looked up from his phone - just in time he might add - as he nearly ran into someone, letting himself offer them a small smile. "Sorry about that." he apologized, recognizing the other from the time their dogs had played at the dog park together. "Oh, hey." he smiled, offering the other a small smile and a wave. "I haven't forgotten I still owe you a doggy playdate."

Event Thread: @asterrmoon
Where: Old Maple Way
Aindreis was not happy to be stuck here. He was driving to the mall when the wind got too strong for him to continue so he stopped at the first thing that seemed safe. He hated it. He'd left home to go find Ali as soon as the storm picked up. He knew the state his partner must be in, and that did nothing to calm his nerves. He usually wouldn't care that much about storms. But it was different now.
As he was pacing around in a corner of the farm, hoping to find some signal, he heard several bangs on the door. After checking if anyone had heard, he decided that even if he wasn't really in a position to be offering shelter as this wasn't his place, he wouldn't want to be left out. So he opened the door, with effort, and closed it, behind the woman with even more effort. "You're okay?" He asked, still holding onto the door as if it was going to open again.
