Fun fact, Excel and its equivalent, LibreOfficeCalc, in addition to automatically changing non-dates into dates, will replace your " and ' with some near-identical-looking arcane symbols that will NOT register as the ones you type with your keyboard.

This is especially frustrating if you keep a spreadsheet of something you sometimes copy paste, but sometimes type out like, say, a tumblr tag, which has to BE THE SAME EVERY TIME in order to work, because I just spent a HALF HOUR playing spot the fucking difference.

Why no option to "keep cell contents as is" or "turn off autoconvert" or something?
