what was tlou!thatcher and adam’s first meeting like!

how much of a little shit was adam and how badly was thatcher hurt in the process adshjfgdhjks-

im taking most inspiration from the show for the au cause the games great but i dont have anyway to play it but i do have several ways to watch the show (that said there is still a good mix of game stuff in there!!) so its like how it went in that

so basically adam tries very hard to fucking stab thatcher but only just managed to leave a slight cut on his coat, followed immediately by thatcher having the thought of "what the fuck do they just have feral children here?"

also important to note that the majority of the exchange between the fireflies here is ruth doing the talking cause thatcher and adam got into a glaring contest before human six (whos called sidney or just sid here) starts trying to do 4d chess with thatcher

also its important to note that like two hours later adam drops a phonebook on thatchers head on purpose

thatcher knew sarah pre outbreak when she was a baby but about three years into everything dave took her and left the QZ so the last time he saw her was when she was a toddler

he still worries a lot about her cause yknow everythings gone to shit and of what happened with mark, his first response to seeing her again is to ask if shes ok, which doesnt go well

sarah doesnt really remember thatcher himself due to how young she was but she knows about him, and more specifically knows about what happened to mark and she has never forgiven him for it, no matter how many times dave tries to explain it wasnt his fault what happened, thatcher promised that hed keep mark safe and he broke that promise so now she doesnt have a brother anymore and she makes sure he knows about it

when she meets thatcher again her first response is to avoid him as much as possible and give him the cold shoulder, which is mostly cause other people are watching and she doesnt want to cause a scene

this is not the case later on when theyre alone and she makes sure to let him know exactly what she thinks of him, even going as far as to say "how long til you get that kid killed like you did mark?"

so its... tense to say the least!

what kind of role does evelin play?

shes at the settlement with dave and sarah! and i still have yet to get into the second game other than just hearing things from people about it but shes got a dina-ish role :]

she joined the settlement when she was 5 and shes one of the several kids whos parents have it in writing that if they die, daves got custody of her

also her first meeting with adam includes him getting mad at her for no reason which i feel is important, they have better interactions afterwards before adam and thatcher have to head off in search of the fireflies but still

id like to start off this with this lil bulletpoint from the outlines without context

so like i said before, thatcher did not become a smuggler due to things that prevented him so when ruth ends up dying hes very much winging it, hes knows what to do in theory but never done it in practice, this leads to "you got us lost didnt you" "no no i didnt" "yes you did thats why you took the stupid map out again" "no im just.. checking" which is very fun and i cant wait to write it

adam gets mad that thatcher wont let him just take things he finds despite the fact that whoever it belonged to is probably dead and everytime they have a interaction like this thatcher feels himself age 12 years

speaking of during the course of the plot thatcher gets his first grey hairs and this is immediately and insultingly pointed out by adam, thatcher then goes "yeah its cause i have to look after you now"

and this is more fun to me specifically than fun to them but whenever someone else is nearby whos friendly they always end up giving thatcher a Look seeing the two of them interact cause adam especially goes "hes not my dad" but they can immediately see how hes trying so hard to look after him and its not just cause of the immunity or getting a vehicle anymore and it doesnt look like it ever was just about that, everyone else can see it so clearly

ALSO i had an epiphany regarding your tlou au. so idk if you threw away henry and sam portion yet but i literally realized that we have CHLOE alongside joel. these two could work

sarah and adam dont really get along at first cause of how they meet, but they get along later on, sarah is a bit worried about adam due to her own opinion on thatcher though

adam and jonah were very close! they met when they were both 5 and stuck by eachother side since then, they did have a good number of fights about things but at the end of the day they were best friends

sarah never gets to meet jonah, but he would have thought she was really cool!! sarah would have had a similar first impression to him that she had with adam

weapon of choice for the tlou au cast?

well they have to change weapons often but they have preferences!!

thatcher prefers to use handguns of all types, hes comfortable with other guns but if given the choice hes going for something smaller he can conceal

adam usually sticks to blades but he later on discovers hes a fan of shotguns!!

ruth prefers rifles but shell be happy with anything tbh, she uses a brick as a weapon at one point

dave preferred shotguns when he used to fight but since his hand injury hes been on the bench, luckily the settlement means thats no problem!

sarah got taught how to use a shotgun by dave so she also prefers them!

cesar managed to get his hands on some sniper rifles a few years back and has been conversing their ammo to make sure he can still use them

the closest to a weapon jonah gets is a shard of broken glass so i guess that counts sobs

evelin hasnt actually touched a weapon yet as she was really little when she joined the settlement, but i think shed prefer handguns too

sid (human six) doesnt fight anymore after he lost his eye, but he still keeps a pistol on him as a precaution

penelope (human preacher) prefers melee weapons herself, shes still good with a gun though

gabriel has the other fireflies do any fighting for him, but theres always a good number of various of weapons around him just in case

what was Thatcher like pre-everything-going-to-shit in tlou? was he up to anything fun?

he was not cause he just got evicted SOBS

so yeah he was currently on daves couch cause when he mentioned the eviction he immediately went "you can stay with me for a few weeks" and hed been sleeping on there for about two weeks before everything went wrong

"sleeping" cause he very quickly found the second sarah made any noise upstairs hed wake up and struggle to go back to sleep so he wasnt actually doing much sleeping

regardless! he was also trying to help dave out with the whole parenting thing cause hey if hes gonna be staying there for a bit its the least he can do to pay him back! he was getting along really well with mark :)

despite being evicted he was still working at mcpd! he just was struggling a lot with money and couldnt keep up payments, he didnt talk about it at work

he also ended up getting to know daves neighbours pretty well! reason was the ground rule for staying at his place was no smoking inside so he was out in the yard often and got talking to people who were nosy

he wasnt doing well all in all but he was more or less happy and was making the best of it, but then oops! things dont stay that way

Hey can you compare Dave in your tlou with how he is post vs pre apocalypse

pre outbreak hes just a fun lighthearted guy! in his lil social circle hes got a reputation for being the guy to ask if your low on cash and need to get milk or something cause hell gladly give you a few dollar, thats the whole reason why thatcher was in his house!

mandelatech was very much a thing but it was only just paying for itself cause he was having to spend a lot on childcare due to the fact that sarah was only about 8 months old and everyone he knew had work, but he didnt complain about it, at least not to anyone

afterwards hes still very friendly but hes also dulled a fair bit, seeing a lot of shit in the apocalypse will do that to you

he doesnt laugh as much as he did before and doesnt really try to connect with people like he did before, hes still more than willing to lend a hand perhaps even more than before but he doesnt really get close to people anymore

the exception to this is sarah, and hes fiercely protective of her and literally wont leave watch if shes not come back from going out of the settlement yet

despite not really connecting with people anymore though, hes well liked across the settlement and hes actually been announced as godfather to the majority of kids in there, afterall its not like its a secret that he raised sarah in the gd apocalypse so everyones come to the very understandable conclusion that if anything were to happen to them, thats the guy they want their kids to be under the care of

since then hes been doing his own thing but occasionally trading with smugglers and others

hes also taken up... decorating to stop any raiders getting into his lil set up, which is fun for despairduo to come across
