Repurposed TMP-movie era chairs on The Outrageous Okona
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the Battle Bridge Viewscreen shows up as a partition between the front and back of the Atlec command centre. Also there's a matching Burke's Chair (I don't know if it's a TOS original repainted or they just made one)

I’m so happy people are being nice to Data this season. Guinan patiently listening to his jokes. Troi feeling comfortable with him being there when she gives birth. Geordi just hanging out with him and playing games. All of them going to bat when Pulaski is being rude. It’s all wonderful!

I was not at all prepared for Okona to be hitting on Data lmao
At the very least Okona inspired Data to explore the element of human experience of laughter and humor which carries through all the rest of the series!
He tries so hard, he’s so cute omfg, reminds me of when I didn’t know where my sense of humor was strongest.
Also Riker and Wes’s relationship is so SOFT I frickin love them.

Billy Campbell as Thadiun Okona in The Outrageous Okona, The Next Generation. Cool guy wearing a cool guy vest. Science fiction has great vests, real life has awful vests.

Modern Star Trek really has done a lot of picking at random plot-threads left over from TNG. Discovery has given us follow up on the Unification Movement and now the Progenitors; Picard has followed up on android rights, Hugh's Borg, Lore, Q, and (I guess) the Jean-Luc/Beverly romance; Lower Decks has followed up on the Exocomps, Pakleds, Tamarians, Crystalline Entities, D'Arsay, Ornarans, and Brekkians, as well as Sonia Gomez, Sito Jaxa, and Nick Locarno; and even Prodigy brought back the Outrageous Okona and Edward Jellico for a few scenes. I feel like it's by far their most popular well to draw from.
