Oh, I am feeling stylish today.

Captain Sisko: “Sisko to Data. Meet me on the Bridge in five.” Commander Data: “That should not be a problem, sir. You see…I have not left it in some time.” Captain Sisko: “Data. What have you done?”

Commander Data: “In light of the Theseus’s extreme losses on the planet, our current bridge crew rotation is missing several key crew embers. I have consolidated their shifts and taken Alpha shift upon myself.* After all, my positronic net is more than capable of the multitasking required. Captain Sisko: “Mr. Scott built all this?” Commander Data: “Mr. Scott and Dr. Crusher are both currently on assignment investigating the planet’s increasing tectonic instability. At last check in, they were at a point roughly 3,000 feet below Tzenketh’s sea level. It seems that the planet’s geology is as idiosyncratic as predicted. We lost commas contact eight hours ago and have been unable to reestablish it. *note: Lore also used his positronic brain to maintain and run the Defiant.

Robbie the Robot at the conn of the C-57D at the conclusion of Forbidden Planet (1956). That was the perfect place for him, as he could unerringly operate the ship whilst the human crew went into stasis.

I always wanted to see more adventures of Commander Adams, Robbie, and the rest of the crew of C-57D as they explored the galaxy.

I’m not autistic, I’m just confident that I could do a better job explaining human social interactions to Lt. Cmdr. Data than anyone on the USS Enterprise. Rewriting ST:TNG scenes in my head where Data’s colleagues are patient and answer his questions thoroughly and nobody rolls their eyes or sighs or laughs or says “oh, Data!” in that way that means “if you have to ask, you’ll never know” is a very neurotypical activity, practiced by neurotypical persons (such as myself), and the frequency with which I do it indicates nothing unusual about me or about how I process human social interactions (I am very good at understanding and explaining them)
