every smart person should be required to have a Dumb Friend purely for the joy of teaching. if you only have Smart Friends they'll most likely already know the thing you're bursting at the seams to tell somebody about like it's new information. but Dumb Friends? Dumb Friends don't know any of this stuff, its all new information to them. and that's beautiful.

#mushroom and stick against the world #totally unrelated but i got stick to adore tesla and have beef with edison lol #everyone should have beef with thomas edison #also having to break down something to have your Dumb Friend understand it can help YOU understand it better #like a rubber duck that smiles and asks questions and says that your infodump is cool #not sure if everyone knows the rubber duck thing so ill explain it #in computer engineering sometimes an engineer gets stuck on a line of code #so at their desks they all have a rubber duck and they read the code out loud to the duck and explain how it works to the duck #sometimes that helps find the code sometimes they need more ducks so other engineers lend their ducks to the problem and they read the code #to the council of rubber ducks and when they find the error in the code sometimes theres celebration and sometimes theres rage #that was a detour i wasnt expecting to make
