From a purely in-universe view, the lack of homophobia in the world of The Owl House is interesting. Because it says a lot about both the Demon Realm, which is a place of unimaginable horrors, but won’t abide by hatred over the intrinsic nature of the soul. And it says a lot about Belos, who was either totally chill with the gays, or allowed it as an excuse to justify wiping them all out eventually (plus some latent homosexual tendencies on his part fueling a rampant self-loathing complex).
But, from an out of universe perspective... there’s no homophobia because it is cringe. Everyone is cool with the gays because to not be would send a bad example to the viewers. And, above all else, there’s no homophobia because using it as a cheap plot point to drive drama is so much less interesting than the crazy shit they can get up to in the show.
Reject homophobia, embrace peak fiction.

Born and raised in an Ultradesert village with few resources, Magdelena made the most of her surroundings when it came to entertainment: rock collecting, star mapping, and playing board games. Upon her pilgrimage to Ultramegalopolis, she began to take interest in training Pokemon and, eventually, in battling alongside them. As survival was the theme of her early days, hobbies became a luxury until only just recently. Since acclimating in Orre, she's enjoyed learning more about robotics and mechanical engineering, as well as continuing to study and examine the night sky. When not out biking across the desert, hanging at the Arby's with one of her colleagues, or laying opponents to waste in one of the region's many coliseums, Magdelena can be found furthering her knowledge of inter-dimensional travel within her lab below Deep Colosseum. Perhaps the only commonality between her hobbies is that she enjoys indulging in activities that keep both her mind and body active.
