The mental image of Overlord in TF1 is absurd. Like he's already kind of an outrageous character in his home continuity but he so aggressively does not belong in TF1 and it's incredible. I really need a 'TF1 but Overlord is there' crackfic

Ohhhoh that's the thing because, by putting him in tfone, there will be comparisons between Overlord and the Thirteen Primes, in my mind. Because, to the tfone mecha, those are the best comparisons here. Overlord is literally on the level as demigods.

Except the Thirteen were benevolent. Overlord... Isn't.

Depending on when in the timeline we catch ourselves here results range from "a living nuke vs a struggling Iacon that's already switching (relatively) quickly between a war, a totalitarian regime, and another war on the horizon" to "Megatron's new mysterious weapon for the war that will greatly disturb the flow of autobot vs decepticon"

Though... Warborn!Overlord or Overlord having been just another decepticon before The Experiments in an upcoming war...🤔🤔🤔

So the Overcat:

-actually cleans himself very often and even likes baths....but he keeps getting into fights with other cats. Sometimes he even attacks raccoons

-due to his rough aspect and the fact that he's more of an outdoor cat, he was caught and taken to a number of shelters on several occasions; if only he wouldn't keep on taking off his collar~ (eventually Tarantulas will chip him)

-keeps lurking around and entering the shelter to cause chaos for some reason; Fortress protects the other cats as much as he can; sometimes Whirl finds his way in the shelter while Rung is distracted by the intruder

-hates clothing accessories with a passion beyond the understanding of man

-meows a lot and I imagine his adult meow is very deep (but not deeper than Magnus' lol)

-has a biting problem(Prowl is his favourite human target btw)

-he is a compulsive eater and his sleep schedule varies a lot; takes antidepressants

-he doesn't react to catnip

-his favorite sleeping spot is the couch; and he won't let anyone else use it

-sometimes brings prey to Tarantulas(who cherishes it and keeps it stuffed or in the freezer because he's a lil weirdo).

-on the few occasions he's been at Prowl's place(Tarantulas insists on bringing him), he kept his distance from the Constructikitties; the kittens seem to like him though.

-in the past: after Megatron left and took over(is that how it went?) the colony, Overlord was on his own for a while. He kept looking for him and found the colony but he wasn't accepted after he severely injured Tarn. Megatron avoided him also; he never liked his presence. Spoiler alert: that didn't stop Overlord from trespassing their territory

Tarantulas:

-he is a sketchy respected university teacher specialized in genetics and chemistry. [Overlord likes to show up during his video calls btw(he needs attention).]

-spends most of his free time in his basement, working on venom based hallucinogens and his spider silk project for the fun of it; Overlord almost drank some once, which determined him to lock him up at times

-occasionally takes part in research regarding creating more humane substances for catching or putting down animals, but he doesn't limit himself to domestic ones

-in the past: when him and Prowl were together, they had a puppy (Springer) for a short while, but Prowl was the one taking care of the dog's needs. Springer was given away eventually to an old acquaintance, Kup who is a police dog handler. Kup trained the dog and which then ended up being one of the doggies of the police department together with the Wreckers. Tarantulas is very normal about the development (he stalks follows one of the officers' Instagram account (Carnivac) to make sure the doggo is happy).

-he took Overlord in sometime after Prowl got the Constructikitties; initially, he intended to get a cat from the shelter but he saw this fluffy jerk roaming around and decided he was the one.

-although he knows a few things about how he's supposed to raise a cat, he prefers to 'experiment' things. "Would he like this? Would he wear that? What if I buy him living pray?"

-sometimes asks Prowl for advice, partly as an strategy to get back together with him(it doesn't work); Prowl wants to face palm whenever he hears about the things he does.

Bonus DJD:

-Tarn, Tesarus, Vos and Helex are adopted by Kaon.

-Kaon works at an electricity distribution company; that's in fact a shell company; he's a poacher who is specialized in hunting big cats

When at home(mostly):

-Tarn spends most of the time in his backyard where Kaon grows some catnip for them

-the four refuse to sleep separately, so Kaon had to buy a large dog bed since otherwise all four of them would just want to sleep in his bed.

-The Pet is one of those flippable plushies(on one side fox and on the other cat), and it's Kaon's childhood toy; he has become a cat chew toy. (I can hear Rewind in the corner, threatening me with compromising videos)

-Nickel is adopted later as an emotional support animal for the four; she can be very loud sometimes

-they all have a scratching problem but Vos is the worst

-speaking of Vos he has some growth related bone problems due to early nutritional issues; he's undergoing treatment

-Tesarus is highly irritable and is also responsible for breaking the most objects around the house; hates being sprayed as punishment but is unrepentant

-Helex likes a bit too much to gnaw on cables and Kaon is desperate to find some way to stop him; he likes sleeping on the stove, but again, nothing Kaon does seems effective; he hates baths the most

-the four can often be found play fighting with each other(Nickel doesn't participate); another activity they like to do together is chasing other cats away from their territory

When away:

-Kaon's job takes him to a number of countries; he also brings his cats along because he can't bring himself to let them with someone else(is it a good idea? Probably not)

-they sleep for the most part in his travel trailer, but they also enjoy sleeping on his terrain car's engine

-the four hunt small rodents and birds at time

-Tarn is very afraid of gunshots; they remind him of thunder

-Nickel is anxious about leaving the house so she refuses to leave the trailer

-Vos fell into a hunter's trap once while he was exploring and Kaon searched for him for days; thankfully he survived somehow, but some of his injuries will stay with him forever

-Helex fell into a river once was accidentally pushed by Tesarus; thankfully it wasn't very deep, however: new fear unlocked

-Tesarus enjoys bullying Pallas cats

-during travel, the DJD cats can have Kaon's bed; Nickel sleeps in the cupboard though

Other:

-sadly Kaon dies in a car accident and the DJD cats return to the street again. They attempt to start a new colony but they are caught and taken to Deathsaurus' shelter

This had me cackling. Also I apologize I know you said fem but I don't know how to make the gender important to the story (I'm gender blind I'm so sorry.)

- you beating Overlord's aft was a miracle and a half. You utilized his pride and slowness against him, though struggling more than you'd like to admit, you managed to out pace him and put the large bot in his place.

- "I don't know what I did! I beat his aft and now he won't leave me alone! I even tell him off and that just seems to get him more interested!" Is what you cry to Rodimus about.

- "I'm gonna be real with you, I don't know how to help you with that. I mean, at least he's not going off the rails and starting fights?" It's all he's got. You know he's right, but it doesn't help you one bit, so yog end up groaning and slumping over in your seat. Roddy tries to pat your back and show you some cool earth thing he has, before Overlord finds you, and coos about how worried he was when you weren't in your habsuite, and glares at Rodimus.

- Overlord still tries to fight everyone, and by Primus Megatron gets it the worst, but he's happy all that's needed is for you to angrily yell Overlord's name and call him back like a dog. Megatron always breathes a sigh of relief when your enraged voice echoes through the room, calling for Overlord to "bring you aft over here right now, I swear to primus if I have to put down my report!-" and watch as the equally large bot instantly drops his fighting stance, rushing over to you, looking far too happy and pleased to be called by you (even if you aren't'.)

- You're tired, you just want to do you job and go about your day, not wake up from a statis to the large blue mech over you, holding a thing of energon for you and asking to spar.

- Ratchet and First Aid hear and see it the most, and believe Ratchet gives you high an audio processor full. You send Overlord to the med bay frequently, and he can't even scold the bot into being more careful cause he's not even listening! He has to deal with Overlord staring at you and not even hearing him.

- First Aid tries to help in that regard, explaining to you that this is getting out of servo, but Overlord nearly throws a medical berth at him for it, only stopping when you glare at him.

- "I fight him, he likes it, I ignore him, he likes that too! Nothing I do sends the massage home for him."

- Ultra Magnus wants to help, trust him he does! This is classified as harassment and he swore to always help his crew members....but....you are literally the only thing keeping Overlord docile, and First Aid and Rodimus have already reported that Overlord does try to swing at them for interfering.

It's safer for everyone to not, after all you seem to handle yourself just fine! You're a strong bot that can handle one of the strongest gladiators in history! He lets you vent as much as you need, but eventually has to tell you he can help once Overlord oversteps.

- Lucky you, you don't have to worry about that. Overlord is obsessed with beating you in battle, but also he loves fighting you, you carry yourself with such strength and confidence once against him, he's smitten. With your speed, to him, it makes your battles feel like a dance! Your movements and skill have him smitten, as does your attitude, your fire and sass have him weak in the knees.

- Prowl is somehow your only ride or die here, he's more worried about what Overlord could do but doesn't think before shouting at him to give you space or to frag off, the temperamental officer goes into protective mode when it comes to you.

- Overlord does not like Prowl because of this, but you cling to your friend in thanks.

- "It's every damn cycle, don't you have a hobby!? Frag I don'tknow, watch a movie, pick up blacksmithing, SOMETHING!" Prowl barely has time to dodge a swift punch, but he manages, and next thing you know there does the fourth table of the week, followed by more shouting, and you having to yell for Overlord to knock it off.

- Rung is definitely getting good use as a therapist, he's trying his best to give you coping skills to help ease your frustrations with your situation, and while they work, you just come back to tell him you came back to your habsuite to Overlord on your berth, and pulling you into his lap.

- "It's rude he didn't ask before doing so."

- "AND THEN HE ASKED TO SPARK BOND, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!?"

- "Oh my, he asked to spark bond-"

- Even just trying to have a professional conversation with you turns into a chore, not because of you, but because of the angry look guard dog standing behind you, glaring down at anyone speaking to you.

Overlord is just content to listen to a recording of your voice while he jacks off, especially if those recordings involve you degrading him, telling him he's the scum of the universe... yes, tell him how disgusting he is, tell him how badly you want to hurt him... he wants to break you, mold you, yet at the same time he loves the way you look at him with disgust.... with pure hatred... please, call him a useless lump of scrap again, won't you? he gets so turned on when you do.....

As much praise as IDW Overlord gets, I think Power of the Primes soured me on that version appearing in that form in Skybound. I want the Masterforce Overlord, because you can do a lot with the idea of two humans turning into a Decepticon with ALL THE GUNS, and commanding the Decepticons themselves.

Wreckers Trilogy Overlord and MTMTE Overlord are two completely different animals to me. By the way. I have a lot of thoughts on him and what he represents in the stories he’s in but if you asked for my personal thoughts on the matter I’d say I enjoyed him a ton more in Wreckers. His inclusion felt purposeful as this incomprehensibly competent and brutal antagonist—he felt more force of nature than character, and honestly? I felt he worked way better that way, especially in opposition to who the protagonists are in the series he’s involved in. Specifically in Last Stand, when we have this direct contrast between Ironfist; somebody who plays an objectively small, background role in the story of the war, and somebody of the likes of Overlord; a general, infamous in both name and nature to everybody on both sides of the war. Last Stand has and always will be a story about hope and (our concept of) “human” perseverance, and Overlord never needed to be a particularly fleshed out character to serve his purpose in getting that message across. Overlord’s presentation in Last Stand made him feel like a metaphor for the senseless violence that comes with the war, and the impersonal cruelty he extends towards the Wreckers made him feel like… just… brutality? Itself?

In MTMTE, Overlord is still dangerous, still horrifying, but he becomes something a lot closer to a “character.” He’s got more dialogue, expanded motivation, plans, grudges, errr idgaf he bites off Rewind’s head. We see more of his interiority, especially through his obsession with Megatron and whatever convoluted desire he had to best him. Which. I’ll be honest I don’t think was totally necessary. And sure, there’s merit to that exploration— especially as MTMTE focuses a lot more on the complexity of individuals, i.e Rewind and Chromedome’s reaction to his death—but I think that approach ultimately softens him. He stops being an abstract manifestation of war’s cruelty and becomes more of a person, villain or not, and that personhood somewhat undercuts the dread(?) that came with him that made him so effective in Last Stand. I don’t know if this makes sense. Awesome
