Conrad at episode 11 + 12, straight up implying that Vash has any control or free-will with violating their siblings to artificially create Independents: I- Tesla, vexing every second the old fuck's still alive:

like
knives: [smashes an ugly chord] the ground: [doesn't change] vash: … knives: … knives: [smashes a different ugly chord] the ground: [doesn't change] knives: i know it was something like this vash: take your time

Came across a pretty cool photo while scrolling through Pinterest and became overwhelmed with the need to make it about Nicholas D(oomed to die from day one) Wolfwood.

With how Tristamp sets up major plot points in advance with the characters that they name drop or have appear and interact with and learn more about other characters throughout the series no matter how short their screen time was or how small their role to play at the time was, I think that Meryl along with Milly might be a bit more involved in the fight against Gray the Ninelives who really only fought against Wolfwood in Trimax.
Tumblr media
Like yeah the girls show up but it's really only at the end and as comedic relief they literally just fall on top of them and knock them out, signalling that the fight's really over now. But like just look at how hyped they looked to fight, guns out and all.
Tumblr media
But in Tristamp not only has Meryl gotten to meet and get to know some of Ship 3’s residents, becoming especially invested in Luida’s project in growing enough flora to terraform No Man’s Land into a green planet to lessen the burden on the Plants and ensure the survival of both species, making her more than willing and ready to fight for them given the chance,
Tumblr media
but also she’s seen Gray as the both the mech suit in Ep3,
Tumblr media
and as the nine people who control it in Ep10,
Tumblr media
with her having seen and gotten to know more about them thanks to Conrad possibly setting up that she might actually be the way Wolfwood figures out that Gray is just a giant mech suit being piloted by nine people. And then they could work together to take them down.
Tumblr media
Which would be pretty cool to see, maybe they could take three each, given that there aren’t a lot of instances that I can recall at least where Wolfwood fights alongside the girls, plus it’d make for good team building with Milly having just joined the gang. Also, after rewatching episode 4, specifically where right before Roberto’s taken by Zazie Wolfwood makes fun of Roberto’s derringer, it just ignited a want, a need really to see Wolfwood have his ass saved at least once by said derringer.
Tumblr media
Speaking of which, there have also been multiple instances where allusions to David and Goliath were made in relation to Meryl in Trimax, notably in the few panels that show bits and pieces of her backstory that show how she got her first derringer, which Studio Orange expanded upon with Roberto, that lead me to believe this to be the case even more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On top of that, I think that she might be reason for why they're simply going to have them locked up and not killed (wonder if seven of them are still going to be killed during the fight in S2) even after the damage they've dealt and the deaths they've caused seeing as she reacted with horror and pity when she learned about them from Conrad,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a sentiment Roberto himself doubled down on,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
which while it might have enraged Elendira and sent her to come after them with her nails, leading to Roberto's death, and possibly souring Meryl's feelings about her, the same can't be said for Gray. @tristampparty

Can you imagine taking a tiny, defenseless child, putting them through horrific, inhumane experiments, and then calling him The Punisher?
Anyway, who wants to help me defenestrate Conrad?

We need to start giving Dr. Conrad more credit. Yes, yes the underage human experimentation, rip I guess. But consider, while Vash had to carry the emotional burden of Knives killing maiming girlbossing all over noman’s land, it was Dr Conrad who had to spend a century and a half in person with Knives. Can you fucking imagine being him? The little Elsa-looking bitch names himself Millions fucking Knives and never looks back from there and you’re just along for the ride. I’d like to think it was chill when it was just Dr. Conrad, Knives, their penthouse and the piano, but then Knives starts a cult and now there’s a group of monster high-ass mfs running around and there’s this blue haired cunt who is the walking definition of the word bitch and who calls you priest william even though you’ve been a doctor for one hundred and fifty years and going now, and the blue-haired bitch in question spends most of his time licking the floor after Knives has walked on it, and time is passing and Knives’ eyes are getting angrier and he doesn’t compose anymore, just plays the same song over and over, and sometimes you wonder how the other boy is doing, the other boy you’ve only seen once so many years ago, and you’ve watched him lose his arm, watched his sister get torn apart, and you’re tired and Knives is angry and you see Tesla in his face and Nicholas is the only one approaching normal out of every single of your little baby Frankensteins, you feel something resembling hope when you look at Elendria and then the end is coming, and you’re ready, and then you realize that maybe all this could have been avoided if you weren’t too worried about beating the incest allegations, and then everything goes to shit and you’re stuck in your flying saucer car with that blue-haired bitch who is ugly sobbing all over your patent-leather seats because Rem’s little boys are dead- I just think we should give his feelings on the matter some thought.

What Knives would look like in my TriStamp AU where the twins can turn small. He probably hasn't transformed at any point in his adult life though, mostly because he sees it as a sign of weakness/vulnerability. Like, he's not any less deadly when he's small, but as much as he doesn't like humans, he does care about maintaining his intimidation factor, especially with the Eye of Michael people.

the birds and the uhhh... Plants
There's some weird stuff going on with Tristamp where reproduction is concerned. As Matt Damon once said, "I'm going to have to science the shit out of this."
Let's review.
(With big, big thanks to @versaphile for the Tristamp transcripts, which were v helpful for the details.)
It's my understanding that Tristamp deviates from the source material by having the Plants be derived from some ancient lifeform rather than being entirely artificial. Which came from Xitter or something idk, I'm not on Xitter, so there's no citation. Bad scientist, no cookie. Anyway.
That snip of info, combined with Luida's exposition about most Plants being cloned from a single cell, brings to mind the mechanics of cloning to produce an antibody of interest. Without getting into too many specifics, the target cells (spleen) get fused into hybridomas with immortal cells, then the hybridomas get cultured into wells such that (nominally) there is one cell per well, and they grow. Then you check what those cells are producing once you have a culture / cell bank.
Sooooo.... are the Plants grown from hybridomas of whatever alien lifeform the Sinners dug up? More importantly, might they have hybridized the lifeform with human cells to make them grow? Sure would explain why the Plants are humanoid, and why the researchers are called Sinners. (pretty sure we'd call them Sinners too, since human cloning is illegal for a reason.) It would elucidate why Plants tend to produce one basic thing (Luida mentions gravity, electricity, chemical compounds, and maybe amino acids; and of course, water); it's because they're monoclonal, not polyclonal.
Plants are clones (asexual reproduction), but Luida also mentions that under rare circumstances, Plants give birth (sexual reproduction). Not that the Plants are doing the humpty dance in there, exactly, but rather they are recombining their own genetic material in novel ways. Producing polyclonals, so to speak.
Vash and Nai are twins, and they look identical, but they could be fraternal (remember that all their parents are clones). It has happened that fraternal twins from mixed-race parents get different genes from each (this is pretty fkn cool actually) and so express different traits for appearance. With Vash and Nai... could that mean Nai expresses more of the Plant traits, and Vash more of the human traits, from the original alien/human hybridomas?
Both have human-like and Plant-like traits. Vash can eat, drink, and sleep like a regular human, and Nai can create matter out of nothing like a regular Plant. It remains to be seen what human-like traits Nai has, but Vash's Plant trait is being able to send and receive from the Core, to create "souls" (independent life?) where there was none before.
Nai can't do it by himself. Conrad has been busy mucking around in the lab with genetic material derived from Nai's cheek swabs to create human/Plant hybrids, such as Elendira. Why Nai permits it isn't entirely clear, unless he's hedging his bets on creating Independents, but he's got "children." Conrad is sick, but Nai won't let him stop researching until he gets the "children" he really wants... and he won't get them without his brother's (unwilling) help.
let's not talk about what he does next.
Trimax and '98 Trigun didn't have anything to say about how little Plants are created aside from that the humans on NML didn't have the ability to make any more of them. It wasn't at all important to the plot, honestly. Tristamp threw that right out the window, because the climax to the series has everything to do with reproduction. And it makes me wonder... Luida said most of Vash's genetic makeup is human, so is he... fertile? Is that where y'all are going with this?
Vash and Meryl had better use protection, that's all I'm sayin'.
