seven sentences from my last wip:

Most of the love songs Jouno has heard don’t get it right. They make love out to be this great big thing—the experience of a lifetime, the beginning and end of everything. They overstate its importance, emphasize the kissing and the sex, warp it until it is nothing like what Jouno knows love to be. In Jouno’s experience, love is a fire burning in your chest, flames fanned by the object of your affections. It is quieting your breaths for the sake of the other person and it is refraining from throwing out repulsive food concoctions and it is bickering and it is living in everything that remains unsaid. It is hearing the confession in a heartbeat and tucking it in your own chest, letting it warm you. It is falling asleep in the passenger seat, trusting your partner will ensure you arrive safely at your destination.
