So I was reading Rose in the Embers and just when I was finishing Tsukumo's stories I realized the sequel's not out yet.

Panicking hard I went to check on the app in JP version and found out that there's no Tsukumo's sequel either. Oh come on you can't leave me hanging like this.

Tsukumo Kobayakawa

He’s a precious, enigmatic guy with a bittersweet story which will make you eager to know his story he’s kept locked away within himself, yet you will see his cold emotional barrier melt with warmth as the plot unravels.

I would deffo recommend his route and Rose in the Embers overall is a very well written story concept from the thoughtful and chirpy dialogue to the fitting BGM and characters with a lot of depth (also I’m a sucker for historical romance).

Let us talk about our boys from the Taisho Era. So according to Voltage wiki, this is the third Voltage game with a historical setting; the first was Sakura Amidst Chaos which was set in the Sengoku period, and the second was Era of Samurai: Code of Love which was set in the Bakumatsu period. (Okay I had no idea on the different periods) But I think this is my most favorite historical story from Love 365 because I still prefer Samurai Love Ballad when it comes to Sengoku period and the Bakumatsu period reminds me too much of Rurounin Kenshin (Rurounin Kenshin takes place during the early Meiji period while Bakumatsu is the final years of the Edo period before the start of the Meiji period) which is just too sad for me okay (though it’s my all time favourite anime and manga classic from my childhood days)

Sidetrack: Rurounin Kenshin: The Final/The beginning is finally coming out!! Been waiting for this for SO LONG.

Okay coming back, so Love 365 recently had a comeback campaign in April this year for this story and I cannot wait for Kyosuke’s Tangled in Briars coming in August — been waiting so long as Kyosuke is my fav guy from The Capital (call me typical but I love this kind of rich guy saving a damsel in distress kind of storylines😆) And now they’re giving 7 episodes free for all main stories till 1 June (best time to check these guys out if you haven’t). I must admit I’ve only read Togo’s story before so this free 7 episodes really helped me in deciding which stories are on my to-buy list for when the next sale comes 😀

I’m not going to give any spoilers (you girls should totally check out the story) but I must say Kyosuke is my number 1 man here and I absolutely loved their date to the Imperial Garden Theatre. And the play La Traviata, Lady of the Camellias. I truly loved the conversation the MC had with Kyosuke. It really made me feel like Kyosuke saw a new side to the MC especially when she said “Her death may have been tragic, but their love wasn’t. It was glorious” okay I was touched i immediately decided Kyosuke is my favourite man 🥰

My next favourite would be Takahisa Togo, followed by Tsukumo Kobayakawa (mainly because I haven’t read his entire story so my favourite may change)

Takahisa is just so awkwardly sweet and manly it’s hard to not fall for him. But I felt his story is really pretty anti-climatic? It’s still a good read though so I prob will get his entire series once there’s a sale.

And then there’s Tsukumo. He’s one of those klutz that’s just hopeless on his surroundings and himself when he’s not working but can we all take a moment to look at this handsome half Russian half Japanese hottie \(//∇//)\

Omg I really can’t wait to get my hands on his story.

And then there’s Misao Higuchi. To be really honest I read the first 7 episodes and my favourite part of his story would be his cat Murasaki? Contrary to popular reviews (people say his story is one of the best), I don’t really get it. Maybe I’ll need to read more to find out but I’m still 50-50 on getting his story. So we’ll see if I feel like spending money when the time comes. I may come back to this post to slap myself in the face hahaha 🙃

To end my super long-winded-not-very-informative post, I really must say I truly love all these historical stories and am really grateful that Voltage is not letting these stories die and still have comebacks. Kudos to the team!

Kobayakawa Tsukumo

Back with my ramblings, Tsukumo's route came out to be free so I took the chance to read it! I heard many good reviews about him, and honestly, when I first started RitE, Tsukumo was the one I was attracted towards. However, I never came around to buying his story (my wallet crying in the distance). But now that it's free, I read it and man was I touched.

Tsukumo, in a nutshell, is a darling, a sweetheart, in other words, a beautiful man. His story was written so beautifully, with great detail and with such emotional depth. I KID YOU NOT, I CRIED. Hearing about his story and getting to know him more, I fell in love with him. His story and him as a character was just fleshed out so well, it's one of the best stories Voltage created hands down.

List of what makes him great (in my eyes):

He's creative

Intelligent, especially with literature

Genuinely polite

Unbelievably kind

Not frivolous

Knows when to tease

Loving

Understanding

(There's so many more but you guys get it)

After reading his story, he definitely jumped way up to my top spot for best Voltage stories/routes. He is absolutely wonderful, and I recommend his route for those who want to read a nice well-written story with the right amounts of emotion.

He's the man that if he was real, I would for sure fall in love with him like MC.
