Any chance we get official models of BWBA characters in merch ranges is good to me.
I mean yeah no one cared for them but if people can write compelling stories for minor RWS characters, and even blank slates from Trainz sites, I’m sure some could do the same to these sillies.

Big World, Big Adventures Railtour Program Part 7: The World Works On The NWR
This will detail my HCs for some of the visiting engines, specifically the ones that actually worked on the railway during their visit. Visitors from the Mainland UK happen so often that I will not be counting them here despite the fact that I mentioned it in earlier parts. One engine joined the fleet after her arrival, and her name is italicized.
Etienne (France)
Etienne would work on the Peel Godred Branchline when he came to Sodor. He is the SNCF BB 9004 and was built in 1954 as a prototype, setting the world speed record for rail transport on March 29, 1955, reaching a speed of 331 kmh (about 206 mph). He was withdrawn in 1973 and placed on static display in the Cité du Train in Mulhouse. He remains there today, and his visit was during January 2016.
Gina (Italy)
Gina worked on the Ffarquhar branch line.  She is a Società Ferrovie Del Ticino 0-4-0T. She started life in 1877 as No. 204, and was renumbered as No. 205 in 1888 when the Ferrovie Nord Milano acquired her railway, and later would be renumbered as No. 200-05. Initially she was used on local passenger trains, before being allocated as station pilot at Milano Cadrona railway station in the 1920s. She remained there until the 1960s, when she was withdrawn. In 1974, she was restored to working order. She would visit a twice: in July 2019 and July 2020.
Lorenzo (Italy)
Lorenzo was employed on the main line as a goods engine. He started life as an FS Class 740 2-8-0, No. 740-283 in 1918, only to be rebuilt into a Class 743 in 1952. He would remain in service with the FS until 1979, at which point he was at last withdrawn and preserved. He would visit the railway together with Gina, and returned to Italy afterwards. He is currently stored inoperable in Torino.
Settebello (Italy)
Settebello worked on the Peel Godred branch line. He is an FS ETR 300, specifically No. 302. He was built in 1953 and used on the Settebello trains between Milano and Roma, hence his name. He would later be downgraded to less important passenger trains in 1984 before finally being withdrawn in 1988. Even after this, he was hired out for railtours and static displays until 2004, when he was stored. He went to Sodor in June 2015, and has since returned to Italy.
Yong Bao (China)
Yong Bao worked the main line as a passenger engine. He is a China Railways RM Pacific built in 1963 as No. RM-1163. He worked until the early 1990s when he was withdrawn and preserved at Aioi, Japan. He went to Sodor three times: in August 2018, July 2019, and July 2020.
Hong Mei (China)
Hong Mei worked on the Ffarquhar branch line. She is a China Railways GJ 0-6-0T built in 1958 as No. GJ-1018. She was a works engine at Chengdu works until her wtihdrawal in the 2000s. She was preserved and is currently on display at Sujiatun works. She visited Sodor alongside Yong Bao.
Kenji (Japan)
Kenji worked on the Peel Godred branch line. He is a 0 series Shinkansen train built in 1964 for the Tookaidou Shinkansen. He worked here until 2008 abd was last of his class in service. He is set R61. He visited the NWR in June 2020, and is otherwise on display at Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Hyogo Prefecture.
Hilo (Korea)
Hilo is this AU’s version of Hiro and is a Korean National Railways Mika 7 Class. This is, in fact, identical to Canon Hiro’s basis, a JNR D51, though standard gauge. He is one of two engines built for the Korean National Railway in 1950 and the only one to be preserved. He is currently on static display in Busan, though worked the main line as a mixed traffic engine on the NWR. He is an anomaly by the program’s standards, as he has visited the NWR on several occasions beginning in September 2009 despite the program only being launched in 2015. He did in fact remain on the NWR on long-term loan between January 2010 and June 2020.
Tracy (Australia)
Tracy worked on the Peel Godred branch line. She was built in 1955 and worked all over the Melbourne tram system until withdrawal in 1992. She was purchased by the Bendigo Tramway at this time, where she acts as a mobile restaurant. She is No. 976 and visited Sodor twice: from July to September 2017 and in August 2018.
Sam (USA)
Sam was actually the first engine to visit the Island of Sodor to kick off the program in February 2015, working heavy goods trains on the main line. He is also the largest, being Virginian Railway Class AG 2-6-6-6, specifically No. 906. He was built in 1945 and withdrawn in 1960. He is one of only two surviving engines from his railway, and the only survivor of his class. He would remain on the railway until August of 2015 before leaving. He is currently in storage in Roanoke.
Vincent (USA)
Vincent “Vinnie” was built in 1936 for the Grand Trunk Western Railway. He is No. 6407 of the U4A class, and worked the main line as a passenger engine during his NWR visit. He was an express engine for the GTWR until 1960 when he was withdrawn and put on static display in Ottawa, Canada. He visited the NWR in May 2016, and the engines regard him as by far their worst experience with any visitors brought to the NWR by the BWBA Railtour Program.
Genoa (USA)
Genoa is by far the oldest visiting engine that actively worked on the NWR, doing so on the Brendam branch line. She was built as an American Standard 4-4-0 in 1873 as the Virginia and Truckee Railway’s No. 12. She worked as a mixed traffic engine, running services along the line between Carson and Reno in Nevada before being withdrawn in 1908, going into storage at Carson works. In 1938, she was restored by the Eastern Railway as No. 60 “Jupiter” in New York for the World’s Fair. She was restored once again as her original No. 12 guise afterwards and shipped to Oakland to become a static display in 1940. She would masquerade as “Jupiter” twice more: in 1948 at the Chicago Railway Fair and in 1969 at the Golden Spike Centennial in Promontory, UT, after which she was restored into her 1902 livery, the one she currently carries. She visited the NWR in July 2018, during which she wore the Jupiter livery, albeit bearing her true name and number. She’s also this universes version of Beau.
Natalie (USA)
Natalie is a General Electric 25 ton shunter, and as her class suggests, these are the duties she performs on the NWR today. The type was used by many American railways. She was built in 1961 as an industrial engine and is a standout here, as she had only recently been withdrawn within the year she came to the NWR, being alongside Genoa in July 2018.
Carlos (Mexico)
Carlos is a GR3 2-8-0 of the Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México (National Railways of Mexico). He was in fact built in 1910 as a narrow gauge engine for the Veracruz Terminal Railway. He would later go on to work for the Teziutlan Copper Railway before being bought by NdeM in 1945. He was regauged to standard gauge in 1950 and withdrawn in 1963, he is currently on display at the  José Cardoso Tellez Railway Museum in Acámbaro, Guanajuato. He visited the NWR in May 2016 and July 2018, where he worked the main line as a goods engine.

Thomas and Friends S23 Lorenzo’s Solo
Does Lorenzo have a one-track mind? Just wanting to sing opera? Seriously that the only thing I took away from that episode.
A few people have been saying that Lorenzo and Beppe have quite the “old married couple” vibe, (just like Toby and Henrietta) but I didn’t see it. Only with Beppe, Lorenzo on the other hand just seems to be just like the average Thomas character. Straight with a hint of potential queerness.
