ik ive been going insane about ourlife for the past 48 hours but man. i was not expecting to feel so deeply touched by such a loving and a compassionate portrayal of autism like this. like. there are characters that are important to me because they represent an experience integral to my life, but cove really do be something different, i got fuckinggggg cognitive behavior therapy’ed into viewing autism struggles i have with compassion and warmth. BY A ROMANCE VISUAL NOVEL.

#its kind of ingenious really #in seeing experiences id always felt so isolated by be depicted as struggles. yes. but also as experiences that werent unique to me #and having that turned BACK AGAINST ME. being forced to confront the fact that when seeing this reflection of myself in a character #i didnt find that reflection wrong or worthy of scorn. i felt compassion and i was endeared and i was like wait hold the fuck on why dont i #treat myself like this HE IS ME theres nothing wrong with him and theres nothing wrong with me #you just gotta manage that stresses of this condition yeah. but theyre not worthy of scorn or shame #and mannnnnnn that was an experience #having emotions about cove holden in the chat lmao #tunes talks ourlife

god u can just feel the care that went into this game. like, the writing took notice of cece having social anxiety -> avoiding conflict and not defending herself in front of her family!!! cove picks up on it and will openly bring it up when relevant in certain conflicts!!! it makes their friendship feel so much richer!!!
