“Fanni, hi! You look incredible, that’s such a great color on you!” Marisol’s face was flushed - she’d blame the chill but it was probably the champagne. She smiled and then pressed on, wanting to get through her prepared speech before she lost her nerve or the hungarian decided to find anywhere else to be. “I don’t know if you heard but,” how would she have heard, nevermind, Marisol pressed on, “Arturo and I moved up the wedding, it’s in February. And I know with your past and -” she hesitated, how does one politely say the eight months you spent fucking my fiancé? “Anyway, he and I have moved past it, a long time ago. But I don’t want you to think I harbor any ill-will towards you for your part in it, I know you weren’t acting maliciously, and I meant it when I said I would like for us to start over.” This all came out rather quickly, and Marisol found herself short of breath, or perhaps she was waiting to see how the other would react.
