SEVERING TIES WITH DEMA

Last night at the APMAs, the clique/TOP won the award for most dedicated fanbase. Josh had performed with other drummers earlier that night, and was at the award show without Tyler. Josh then stated that Tyler “wishes he could be here” and that he was “off severing ties with DEMA”. 

So, what exactly is DEMA? (this theory was brought to our attention on twitter by user @jecrules)

Well, when you click on the Wikipedia page for DEMA, you are provided with a list of what DEMA might mean.

The first result is an Iranian word that means “towers of silence”. (this may seem a little extra but stay with us) If Tyler is “severing ties with DEMA” or in this case, silence/towers of silence, then that means that he is creating sound. More specifically, a new album or song. As you all know, this is currently TOP’s twitter.

The word “silence” at the top is indicating their hiatus. Silence=lack of sound/music. If Tyler is severing ties with silence, then he is working on the band’s next album or project. Now, we know this seems a bit far fetched. However, something that gives this theory some credibility also happened last night.

The @blurryface account on twitter (which is generally believed to be run by Tyler) liked the theory put forth by user @jecrules. (NOTE: THE ONLY BLURRYFACE/ECHO ACCOUNT WE TRUST IS @BLURRYFACE ON TWITTER)

The fact that this account liked the theory leads us to believe that there might be a grain of truth in there somewhere. 

This could also be about Tyler severing ties with Blurryface.

EVOLUTION

No logo. The E is now crossed out instead of the O. Could the new song/album start with an E?

The dash in the place where the logo was most likely symbolizes waiting for a new logo. Either way, it seems like the red version of the logo is gone. The red eye is gone, and as red was the color of Blurryface, the last piece of Blurryface is also gone.

Silence=lack of sound/music.

Silence is the only word on the twitter header now, facing the right way instead of backwards. Maybe it is part of the new album in some way? Could this also relate to Tyler’s whisperer picture on Instagram?

Now we are just sitting in silence. But for how long?

REMEMBER THE MØRNING IS WHEN NIGHT IS DEAD

Again, keeping with the eyes/sleep theme. Could the night be representing the Blurryface era and the morning representing the new era? 

Because many of these quotes are night related and are accompanied with the eye closing, if the eye opens again, it would make sense for the quotes to be morning related.

I WILL FEAR THE NIGHT AGAIN

These lyrics are from truce. Many of the lyrics displayed so far have been sleep related (Slowtown, Oh Ms. Believer), and these lyrics fit into that pattern. However, the lyrics from Polarize are not necessarily sleep related.

Whatever comes next, we are expecting something to happen once the eye closes fully, whether it is a new logo design (like many of you think) or a song tease.

EYES

In yesterday’s sleepers video, this graphic of an eye closing was displayed several times. In the center of the eye was the TØP logo in red. Because of this, we thought that it symbolized falling asleep, or more closure for the Blurryface era, because the eye was closing on a red version of the logo.

However, some posts made on twitter today have led us to believe that this is not the case.

For starters, the profile picture on twitter is now this eye with the red logo. This is making us think that whatever this is might be sticking around, so the eye graphic most likely doesn’t mean closure or saying goodbye. Furthermore, their Instagram profile picture has also changed to this red eye logo.

Could this possibly be a new logo design? Could this mean that red will also be a part of this new era?

This new picture was also posted on their twitter, in the same red eye shape. Backwards, the text reads “YØU’LL HAVE TØ CØME AND FIND ME”, which is a lyric from Polarize. This photo is now also their Twitter header, replacing the old black background that said “TWENTY ØNE PILØTS”. Setting this picture as their header means that it is important. At the moment, we believe that this is an invitation to look for clues. We know that they are very cryptic, and when the new album is released, we will most likely see that they have been teasing at it for a while, just like with Blurryface. Saying “YØU’LL HAVE TØ CØME AND FIND ME” implies that something is already hidden that they want us to find.

WHAT’S NEXT

In this interview with a local radio station during TDC, Tyler and Josh addressed the question of what is coming next. 

Tyler said that they definitely would be taking some time off, which makes sense when you see that they have been touring almost the entire time that Blurryface has been out.

Tyler also added that they are always working on new music, regardless if they are taking a break or not. Furthermore, we know that they like to write a lot of music on the road, and that they often get a lot of inspiration for new material while on tour. They also have a portable studio in the back of their tour bus. (Tyler has shared this information in numerous interviews) Given that they have gone on not one, but TWO tours means that they have had a lot of opportunity to write on the road. This could mean that they have some music written, but haven’t gotten the chance to record it professionally yet. 

When recording Blurryface, they worked with numerous producers all over the world, and this takes more time than working with one producer in one location. If they were to do this again, it could create another delay.

Because they have done so much during the two years that Blurryface has been out, it makes sense that they might want a break. However, we wouldn’t give up hope that something could be coming soon. (We all know how cryptic they are.) 

Several clues remain unexplained, such as the WAIT_s displayed during TDC. Updates to follow on cliqueconspiracy.

UPDATE

Tyler just said that tonight was the last show of this album cycle. End of an era (and maybe a new era?) confirmed.

UPDATE FROM TØNIGHT’S SHØW:

Fans in attendance at the Schott tonight have spotted white and blue confetti in addition to the usual red confetti. This could hint at a new era beginning tonight and a possible new album/song reveal/tease. 

NØTE: cliqueconspiracy is NOT in Columbus tonight, and cannot confirm that this is true. However, it would make sense.

FURTHER UPDATE: The entire arena went red a few minutes ago, signifying the end of the Blurryface era.

LAST UPDATE: Red confetti was released last night, meaning that the blue and white that was seen could have been left over from other events at the arena. The release of only red confetti also makes sense, as a final farewell to Blurryface in the album’s signature color.

At the moment, the significance of the WAIT_s has not been revealed, meaning that Easter eggs and clues to new music could be out there.

THE END ØF AN ERA

Many signs and sources have led us to believe that tonight will be the last night of the blurryface era.

The end of an era can only mean one thing. The start of another. Near the end of last night's show, Tyler said something like "Hopefully you will stay with us when we make new music," which adds to the theory that something new is coming soon. cliqueconspiracy believes that a new song may be played or teased tonight. However, if this is not the case, other possible release dates/information drops may be: •The last sleepers video However, if this is the end of the blurryface era, this video may be posted tonight, as no new footage is being captured of the TDC shows, and this video is connected to blurryface. (@reelbearmedia on twitter tweeted that no new footage would be captured this week.)

•The 8th of July (this may be less likely, but several albums have been released on the 8th of a month, and they may want to continue that pattern.) •WAIT_ Starting last Wednesday, there were 14 WAIT_s on the screen, counting up 14 will make you arrive at the 4th or the 5th of July depending on how you count.
