oh now that i think about it it would probably be pretty easy to write something in ublock or tampermonkey that redirects tumblr webp links to the gif version to make it easier to download them as gifs, not to mention safer for anyone with photosensitivity issues if i can get it to alter the actual inner html (the xkit option to pause gifs doesnt work with images uploaded as webps, despite the fact there always seems to a gif version for webp images on tumblr servers? so i think redirecting to that would fix it i dunno)

#someone might have already but idk. i might just do it myself anyways #i mean it wouldnt be terribly hard unless theres something on tumblrs end to prevent it or something #ublock specifically already has some shorthand for basically this exact thing #though it seems like an obvious idea maybe theres a reason i havent seen anyone do it? maybe its not possible for some reason idk #or maybe just nobodys done it yet. who knows #awoo
