¿Qué es Ayahuasca?🪶🍃🍂🍃🌱

Ayahuasca o yagé es una bebida indígena usada en la medicina tradicional sudamericana por pueblos nativos de Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Venezuela.

Se trata de una decocción elaborada a partir de la combinación de:

Banisteriopsis caapi (yagé o ayahuasca), la cual contiene harmina y tetrahidroharmina (THH), alcaloides de la clase beta-carbolina, que actúan como inhibidores de la monoamino oxidasa (IMAO) y que permiten al componente psicoactivo primario dimetiltriptamina (DMT) entrar en actividad y

una segunda planta que es la que contiene la molécula DMT en sí, especialmente Psychotria viridis (chacruna) o también Diplopterys cabrerana (chagropanga o chaliponga).

El consumo de la ayahuasca genera efectos visionarios a causa de la presencia del DMT natural de plantas como Psychotria viridis, Diplopterys cabrerana y otras.

El preparado de la ayahuasca recibe distintos nombres dependiendo de los diferentes pueblos o regiones dónde se elabora.

Origen/Historia

El origen del uso de la ayahuasca, así como su antigüedad, son desconocidos. Distintos autores han propuesto distintas teorías acerca de los orígenes de la ayahuasca, y la cultura popular, tras la expansión de la ayahuasca, ha enfatizado los orígenes milenarios del uso de la cocción por parte de los pueblos nativos amazónicos.

Algunos autores han propuesto una antigüedad del uso de ayahuasca de hasta 5.000 años, otros datan los inicios entre el 500 a.C. y el 500 d.C. Otras teorías apuntan a inicios mucho más recientes.

Los primeros relatos en los que se encuentra la palabra ayahuasca provienen de dos misioneros jesuitas que, en 1737 y 1740 respectivamente, viajaron por la zona del río Napo. En sus relatos se menciona el uso de ayahuasca con fines curativos y adivinatorios.

¿Qué es la Ayahuasca y por qué se utiliza para aliviar problemas psicológicos?

Es cada vez más utilizado en México como un tratamiento complementario para problemas de adicciones, depresión y ansiedad, aunque su uso genera dudas entre los científicos.

El Ayahuasca contiene alcaloides y/o inhibidores de la monoaminooxidasa (IMAO), una enzima que descompone el excedente de tiramina en el cuerpo. El bloqueo de esta enzima puede ayudar a aliviar la depresión. Normalmente esta sustancia en consumida en ceremonias que usan un brebaje con fines terapéuticos perparado por los “taitas” o abuelos chamanes indígenas de países como Perú o Colombia.

Hay varias plantas que contienen IMAOS naturales, como harmina o harmalina (...) Análogo en muchos sentidos a la iglesia aborigen del peyote, el rito ayahuasquero ha cobrado alas en la última década, gracias sobre todo a las iglesias y sectas de origen brasileño. Sus ceremonias periódicas de comunión con el fármaco les proporciona trances visionarios que hasta ahora no han sido objeto de represión, pues los vehículos botánicos empleados por sus chamanes no figuran en las listas de drogas controladas o prohibidas”, refirió el filósofo Antonio Escohotado en su “Fenomenología de las Drogas”.

¿Cómo es la Ceremonia?

En las ceremonias, que comienzan al atardecer, las personas beben la sustancia para sanar alguna dolencia física o problemas psicológicos. Luego prosiguen con rituales y cantos durante la noche, como parte del proceso de “curación”. Al ingerir la ayahuasca el cuerpo reacciona con vómitos y evacuaciones, así como visiones que ayudan a las personas a tener un ejercicio de “introspección” con el que logran una mayor conciencia de sí mismos y de lo que sucede en su vida.

Algunas estimaciones calculan que más de 25.000 personas pertenecen a alguna de estas religiones en todo el mundo. El Santo Daime y la UDV se han expandido internacionalmente y se pueden encontrar grupos en países tan dispares como Brasil, Estados Unidos, Canadá, España, Holanda, Alemania e incluso Japón. En algunos de estos países, las iglesias cuentan con protección jurídica de sus prácticas religiosas, incluyendo el uso e importación de ayahuasca.

A pesar de que la sustancia tiene un fuerte efecto alucinógeno, la persona que la ha bebido mantiene una consciencia clara: sabe que lo que está viviendo se debe a la ayahuasca ingerida. El mundo de visiones en el que entra es a la vez un camino introspectivo que puede ofrecer experiencias tanto positivas como también negativas.

Para que la ayahuasca pueda ser considerada una terapia alternativa, "de acuerdo con algunos científicos", es necesario realizar estudios del impacto que tiene en las personas a largo plazo; mientas tanto los efectos son responsabilidad del paciente y de quien lo prescribe.

La ayahuasca es una potente sustancia visionaria debido a los alcaloides que contiene, la dimetiltriptamina (DMT) y las betacarbolinas. Aunque parece que los efectos más prominentes son debidos a la DMT y no a las betacarbolinas, ya que los estudios realizados con ellas no son concluyentes, a continuación de describen los efectos de dichas sustancias por separado.

En contextos controlados se ha informado de efectos ansiolíticos, antidepresivos y antiadictivos de la ayahuasca, así como de otros agonistas de la 5-HT2A, como la LSD y la psilocibina.

¿Para quienes no es la Ayahuasca?

Personas con historial familiar de episodios psicóticos, o con trastornos mentales diagnosticados tales como esquizofrenia, trastorno bipolar, depresión con síntomas psicóticos, tienen mayor riesgo de sufrir tales reacciones adversas y se recomienda que se abstengan de utilizar ayahuasca.

¿Elegir el facilitador y el Espacio?

Algunos aspectos importantes que conviene tener en cuenta para reducir los riesgos y maximizar los potenciales beneficios implican la elección del lugar adecuado para tomar, así como el contexto y la persona que va a dirigir la sesión.

La ayahuasca suele utilizarse en contextos ritualizados y la persona que dirige la sesión puede ejercer una gran influencia en el desarrollo de la experiencia, las dinámicas que se generan en el grupo, la seguridad, así como el mantenimiento de unos límites éticos y responsables con los participantes.

Favorite fruit 🥭 IM BORINGG i love apples but like they r my comfort food they r everything 2 me if i dont have atleast one apple every few days i will go fucking insane i need apples AND when i got covid i couldnt eat apples for months bc they tasted like vomit AND I HATED IT but i can eat them again :3 i also love bananas but mostly as a flavour bc apple flavours tend to be sour but banana flavours r usually sweet and i love banana milkshake and banana cake and banana. banana stuff. yeahh. apples n bananas. i am SO boring but its fine :3
