"milk or cereal first?" "cereal for sure! has anyone said milk?" she shook her head "no" "that's crazy" she looked at me making me laugh and her too. "if you could date one UFC fighter who would it be?" she asked I blushed "I'm not gonna say" "come on" she smiled "he's on the card that's all i'm saying" "no no now you have to tell me" I sighed "don't release this part till after the fights" "promise" "um okay.....Sean" "Strickland?!" I smiled "yeah" I laughed "he's like crazy you know?" "I know but I kinda like it," she laughed me too "this is gonna be everywhere" I sighed.
I was standing by the stage ready to go on for the press conference "y/n right?" I turn around to see Sean "yeah!," I smiled "Sean" he smiled back "good luck on your fight" "likewise! I know your probably not to happy about having a female co main event but it'll make your fight even better" I chuckled "no I don't mind you put on good fights" "thank you! your fights are great I can't wait to watch" I smiled.
"question for Y/n, how do you feel about Sean and the comments he made about female fighting?" I grabbed the mic "I don't mind," I shrugged "I think it's true I'll never fight as good Sean or any male fighter so I don't have a problem with what he said" "thank you see u guys are the only people with a problem". "where you from?" he whispered "I live in Vegas" "we'll have to train sometime" I nodded "sounds great" I smiled and lightly blushed.
| Week later |
"Y/n we're almost there you ready?" Nina asked through the phone "yeah I got all my snowboard shit" "okay!"
I put my stuff in the back of her truck I hopped in the front seat with Nina driving and her boyfriend in the back "hi!" I smiled and hugged her. Halfway there Nina says "oh I forgot I invited someone" "who's" I took a sip of my monster "Sean!" "Sean?! please tell me you mean o'melly even tho I hate him" "no Strickland" I sighed "really I didn't even do my makeup" "its fine he most likely didn't see the video" "your joking it's everywhere" I put my head in my hands blushing covering my face. I got on my phone going to the video on her page "he put laughing till i'm crying emoji, he thinks it's funny" "no he jus-" "don't bring it up please" "I won't promise" "thanks".
She walked over and hugged Sean as I got all my snowboarding stuff "Y/n!" he said "hi" I gave a slight smile he gave me a side hug "good fight!" "thank you, you too" I blushed "you still have your belt so you did better" "no no you won for sure" "thanks".
I was doing alright while snowboarding not very good, Sean and Nina were doing pretty good. "i'm going to the baby hills" I told the camera "no no come here" Sean said coming next to me putting a hand out for me which I took "thanks". "just start going" he said "i'm gonna fall and get cold again" I laughed he chuckled "I'll catch you I'm right here" "okay". I was doing great while holding on to Sean, we went over a rock Sean fell on his back pulling me down with him "Sean!" he groaned while I laughed "I still got caught you" took me a while in the snow but I finally got up then put a hand out for him "come on," I tried help him up "you have to help me a bit" we laughed he got up putting his hands on my back mine on his biceps "I got us both wet" "I can't do the big kid one" he laughed "i'll go the the baby one with you".
I did a jump "you see that!" I yelled "yeah!", "i'm tired" I sighed sitting down "me too" he sat next to me in the little cafe at the snowboarding place. Nina and her boyfriend joined "you back to training yet?" he asked me "no i'm taking a bit of a break, you?" "same yeah". "you know Y/n I saw something Nina posted on her page" I sighed "you did?" "yeah you'd date me out of all the UFC fighters" I sighed "yep" he nodded "give me your number then" I smiled "give me your phone" he smiled and threw me his phone.

UFC 297 Preview: Dricus Du Plesis vs Sean Strickland
youtube
I was really worried about how this one would unfold in the build-up, but I'm glad the two fighter have more or less decided to stop talking personal issues, and Dricus' press conference on Thursday shed some light on how the two have decided to proceed with promoting the fight.
Sean Strickland appears to have made the decision to be more composed for the most part and shout out to Sean, for liking my Instagram reel
All told, I believe I have narrowed down the key variables that will swing this fight, and have the break down for you, if you keep reading.
Tumblr media
More than anything, this fight could be decided by who is able to pressure forward more.
Sean Strickland showed the value of going forward and controlling the centre against Adesanya at UFC 293, however this fight against Dricus, is going to be contested at a different pace.
If there is a stat that I think matters, it's strikes landed per minute, both Dricus and Strickland are at well over 5 strikes per minute, and that is an indicator of a high-volume, blow-for-blow fight and two guys trading heavy shots.
Sean Strickland's philly shell style is as awkward to deal with as anything you'll see in MMA. it allows him to manage distance and it'l be interesting to see how he deals with Dricus' in and out footwork, and again, whoever has the better execution will likely lead on the scoredcards for most of the fight.
According to UFC stats, Sean Strickland has a takedown defense percentage of 84%, which is outstanding, and stats do indicate that Dricus is sneaky good at takedowns, and he lands an average of 2.72 every 15 minutes, executing atleast one in 4 of his 6 UFC fights,so thats an area that looks like swinging either way.
If numbers are your chosen indicator, the Dricus appear to be more likely to win by knockout, with only one of his UFC fights having ever gone to decision, and Sean Strickland has a history of winning on the judges cards.
According to most bettors and Chael Sonnen, Sean Strickland is the favorite to win this fight, but I would be hard pressed to take this advice seriously.
In conclusion, I'm looking forward to UFC 297, to have my country represented on the UFC stage by someone from my local MMA scene, right here in Pretora, South Africa, baby!!

Toronto Blue Jays 2018 season preview: All eyes on an AL Wild Card spot
Final season, the Toronto Blue Jays noticed their streak of back-to-back playoff appearances and three straight successful seasons come to an finish. In 2018, they’re going to be trying to rebound even if they share a division with the souped-up Yankees and Pink Sox (they’re going to play these two groups a mixed 38 occasions), the latter of whom has received the final two AL East titles.
Now let’s have a better take a look at the 2018 Blue Jays …
The vitals
2017 document: 76-86, 4th place in AL East (minus-91 run differential)
2018 Depth Chart: Click on right here
2018 Schedule: Click on right here
2018 Fantasy outlook: Click on right here
Possible lineup
Curtis Granderson, LF
Devon Travis, 2B
Josh Donaldson, 3B
Justin Smoak, 1B
Russell Martin, C
Kendrys Morales, DH
Randal Grichuk, RF
Kevin Pillar, CF
Aledmys Diaz, SS
Possible bench: Teoscar Hernandez, OF; Luke Maile, C; Steve Pearce, INF/OF; Yangervis Solarte, INF
Troy Tulowitzki will after all be the Jays’ beginning shortstop when wholesome, however he will not be prepared for Opening Day due to bone spurs in his proper heel. As soon as Tulowitzki returns, he’ll possible power Diaz to the bench and take Hernandez’s spot on the lively roster (even with Tulowitzki out, Hernandez just isn’t a lock to make the Opening Day 25-man).
Possible rotation
Marcus Stroman, RHP
J.A. Happ, LHP
Marco Estrada, RHP
Aaron Sanchez, RHP
Jaime Garcia, LHP
Stroman is the workers ace, however he is sidelined with shoulder irritation and will not be on the Opening Day lively roster. Proper now, although, it seems Stroman will nonetheless have the ability to take his first flip, simply not within the season opener.
Possible bullpen
Nearer: Roberto Osuna, RHP Setup: Ryan Tepera, RHP; Seung hwan Oh, RHP Center aid: Danny Barnes, RHP; Aaron Loup, LHP; John Axford, RHP; Tyler Clippard, RHP Lengthy aid: Luis Santos, RHP
And a rotation shall lead them
Simply by eyeballing the names above, you’ll be able to most likely inform the Blue Jays probably have a powerful rotation in place for 2018. Final season, Toronto ranked a good seventh within the 15-team AL in rotation ERA and rotation WAR, and that was regardless of getting simply eight begins from Aaron Sanchez, who was restricted by severe blister issues. (Up to now, Sanchez has been blister-free in camp.) The addition of Jaime Garcia, offered he is wholesome, ought to stabilize the fifth spot within the rotation.
Talking of all that, let’s take a look at what the CBS Sports activities fantasy projections say in regards to the Jays’ rotation in 2018 …
Pitcher
Projected 2018 innings
Projected 2018 ERA
Marcus Stroman
173
Three.69
J.A. Happ
183 2/Three
Three.33
Marco Estrada
169 2/Three
four.03
Aaron Sanchez
160 1/Three
Three.65
Jaime Garcia
142 2/Three
four.04
Should you’re a Jays fan, then that is encouraging stuff. For context, the common ERA for an AL beginning pitcher final season was four.54, and each Jays starter is projected to greatest that mark by a large margin. When you contemplate that Rogers Centre performs as a hitter’s park, these projected numbers turn into even higher. In all, they’re just about consistent with these pitchers’ established ranges of capability.
The important thing, after all, shall be well being. There is a large drop-off from these 5 names to the opposite in-house choices for the rotation. Final season, the Jays gave 53 begins to guys exterior their high 4. Garcia will eat up a few of these in 2018, which is after all by design. Total, although, Toronto’s fortunes in 2018 will largely hinge on how wholesome these 5 starters are. In the event that they’re usually in a position to reply the bell, then you definately’re most likely among the best rotations within the AL.
Improved infield depth
Accidents in 2017 hit the Toronto infield fairly exhausting. Troy Tulowitzki was restricted to simply 66 video games due to hamstring, groin, and ankle issues. Devon Travis continued to be beset by accidents, as he performed in simply 50 video games because of a bone bruise in his proper knee. On high of all that, MVP candidate Josh Donaldson was laid up for roughly a month and a half with a calf harm.
Donaldson raked upon his late-Could return to the lineup, however the Jays struggled to get ample manufacturing from the center infield all season. Take into account …
Toronto shortstops in 2017 — Ryan Goins had probably the most PAs on the place — mixed to hit simply .240/.287/.368.
Toronto second basemen in 2017 — Darwin Barney had probably the most PAs on the place — mixed to hit simply .241/.291/.367.
These bestowals are each very related and really horrible. By buying and selling for Aledmys Diaz and signing Yangervis Solarte this offseason, the Jays are hoping their fallback choices are significantly better ought to accidents strike Tulowitzki and Travis but once more (historical past means that’s a powerful chance). Diaz and Solarte aren’t stars, however they need to assist the Jays keep away from such terrible manufacturing from their respective positions ought to they be pressed into common obligation. As effectively, the Rule 5 addition of Ivan Castillo and the commerce for Reward Ngoepe give the Jays one other layer of choices ought to it come to that. Solarte particularly (profession OPS+ of 105) figures to be a superb depth piece.
That depth plus the hope for a full season from Donaldson ought to transfer the needle for the Toronto infield.
A questionable lineup
Toronto final season ranked final within the AL in runs scored and 14th in OPS though they performed their dwelling video games in, as famous, a superb park for hitters. Donaldson nonetheless figures to have an MVP efficiency ceiling, and Justin Smoak’s breakout seems to be principally repeatable, at the very least within the near-term. Elsewhere, although, issues abound. Curtis Granderson, Russell Martin, and Kendrys Morales are all of their mid-thirties. Randal Grichuk brings with him to Toronto a profession OBP of .297. For causes famous above, higher manufacturing from the infield is an inexpensive expectation, however even with that this figures to be a bottom-tier offense within the AL. So, to repeat, that rotation actually must be wholesome.
Donaldson’s unsure future
Donaldson, as he proved after his return from harm final season, continues to be among the best gamers in baseball when wholesome. He is additionally going into his stroll yr. Commerce rumors swirled about him this offseason, however the Jays rightly need to see if they will contend in 2018. If issues go poorly from the beginning, then you definately may see Donaldson shopped main as much as the non-waiver commerce deadline. In any other case, the Jays will dangle onto him within the hopes that they will snare a playoff berth. If latest studies are any information, then a contract extension appears much less and fewer possible. In different phrases, the 2018 season seems to be like it may be Donaldson’s final in Toronto. Quickly sufficient, the Jays will start constructing round high prospects Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Anthony Alford, and people plans might not embody their franchise third baseman.
The excellent news? Our pals at SportsLine proper now mission the Blue Jays for 84 wins and a spot within the AL Wild Card Sport. On condition that they share a division with the mighty Pink Sox and Yankees, that is a formidable potential consequence. As repeated probably to the purpose of annoyance, a principally wholesome rotation shall be key to attending to the mid- to high-80s in wins and being within the playoff combine. Proper now, the Jays appear like the most effective third-place workforce in baseball, and within the period of expanded playoffs which means you are at the very least a fringe contender.

Fight rec of the weekend: scores be damned, this was a fun scrap between Natasha Jonas and Mikaela Mayer. Mayer’s pressure, size and pace against Jonas’ speed, power, and offensive flexibility. Terrific way to spend 20 minutes if you have it and honestly more compelling than anything that was on the main card for UFC 297.
