LETTERS FROM NEW PANEM - extra snippets
- Thom's parents and little brother died when he was 13, of pneumonia. He was taken to the community home and kept on quarentine for a month, before being mixed with the rest of the kids. He and Delly get married the day after she turns seventeen. They have a VERY active sex life. Their first daughter is born on the first day of winter but her name is Summer.
-Gale moved to District Two, and I couldnt care less what he's been up to.
-Prim and Mrs Everdeen move to District 4. By the time Katniss gets married to Peeta, Prim is finished with her nursing training, so she comes back for the wedding and she stays in Twelve for a couple of years, to get some "real life" experience before moving on with her studies.
-Reese Donner takes over his his parents sweetshop, and he provides an ample ammount of gummybears for K and P's toasting, because he knows she loves them. He barely recognizes Prim, who's nearly as tall as him and with a slight tan. He gets injured a lot after that.
- Madge and Rye live together in town. He runs a restaurant right next to the bakery and she's the kindergarten teacher. She still refuses to marry him even after being together for ten years and all the kids calling her Mrs Mellark.

Madge/Peeta friendship. Oneshot.
This was just how they worked sometimes: he smiled and she smiled back and together they laughed and argued about trivial things. And, for a moment, the weight of reapings and sick mothers and bouts of loneliness didn't weigh so heavy on their frail shoulders.

Madge wishes she had more time with him—more time to explain everything. To explain that everything changed when she began to understand what was happening in her own home and when things in his own home became too vicious for the young boy he was. That they were children thrown into circumstances that they’d never be ready for even if they had prepared themselves. It was the fact that they were unable to speak about their problems with each other that caused the drift in their friendship. But the Peacekeepers were coming to escort her and take Peeta away from her forever.
She sighs softly and her eyes start to burn as the reality of situation begins to sink in. “We grew up too young, Peeta.”

Please tell me you have a middle name - chapter 7
“Huh.”
I look at Rye through the small mirror that I use for shaving every morning as he enters the small bathroom that we share, bare chested and a frown on his face. His mark is still there.
“Does this seem lighter to you?” He asks, poking it with his index finger.
“I’m not sure.” I say as I turn around to take a closer look. Last night, when he left, he was pretty sure his soulmark would be completely faded by morning. “How was your date?”
"Awful. I was there forty minutes late, I didn’t bother changing clothes.” He goes on enumerating on his fingers all the many ways by which he screwed up on purpose. “I gave her a full report of all the girls I’ve ever been with. Once we were talking about politics it was downhill from there.”
I know he was aiming for the worst date ever, but did he really have to try that hard? I actually think Madge would be good for him, and he’s old enough to get his life together. A soulmate would give him that, and the more I think about it the more I realize Madge could really be the one for him.
“Where did you take her?”
“The bench in front of the butcher place.”
The pointed look I give him is enough testament to my thoughts on this.
“Don’t look at me like that! I was actually going to take her to the slag heap, but then I decided against it. I didn't want to risk giving her the wrong vibe. Did you know Madge wears glasses?”

Please tell me you have a middle name - chapter 14
Saturday May 20
“You’re aware your soulmark is black again, right?”
Rye looks at me with annoyance, through half closed eyelids. He never handled early mornings very well, so approaching the subject before 7 a.m. wasn’t my smartest move.
He works his batch of sourdough bread in silence as I start decorating the cakes. Weekends are when we usually have the biggest outflux for them, which makes Saturday mornings my favorite time to work. On top of that, I’m working on Reese’s birthday cake. Today he’s turning eighteen. Just a simple butter cake, with plain vanilla frosting. I wished I could do something more elaborate for him but, as my mother would put it, “affection doesn’t pay the bills”. I need to stick to the order his parents made, a cake they can actually afford.
Ah, the hell with it.
I take some shredded almonds and add them under the frosting. Rye huffs in disapprovement, but remains silent. It’s not noticeable in plain sight, and Reese’ll have a nice surprise when he bites into it.
“It’s been like this for two days now.” Rye finally admits. “ Ever since our last date.”
“You mean the one where you brought her here and made her do all the prepping
work with you?”
“Free labor, can you blame me?”
Yes Rye, I can blame you in oh so many ways.
“You should just embrace it, Rye. The heart wants what the heart wants.”
“I - don’t - want - it!” He exclaims louder than he should, carefully enunciating every word. The last thing we need is for Mom to come down because we’re being too loud.
“Why-is-it-black-then?” I throw back at him, keeping my tone a lot quieter.
What sort of epidemic is this? Why is everyone trying to reject their soulmarks? I’m blaming Rye and Madge for putting these rebellious ideas in Katniss’ head. I lift my pants leg a few inches, just in case. Yep, still black.
“I don’t know!”
He’s quick in his answer but his eyes hesitate and give him away.
“You guys made out again, didn’t you?”
“No!”
“Rye…”
“No making out whatsoever happened in this bakery. This is sacred ground. It didn’t happen, you have my word.”
I pause with my piping bag mid air, as I wait for his gaze to meet mine.
“Well, it depends on what your standard for making out is, I suppose.”
“For crying out loud, Rye!”
“It was just a couple of smooches. Ok, four, tops. But no tongues, so it doesn’t count right? Except…”
“Except…?”
“When I left her on her doorstep, we sort of… …yeah, we had that whole tongues battling for dominance thing going on, but it was under two minutes, cross my heart!”
“…plus you weren’t on sacred ground!” I point out, my tone laced with sarcasm.
“Exactly!”

Letters from New Panem - Part 19
Chapter 19- Are you sure about this?
"No, we are definitely not a set." Peeta answers Rooba, when we pass her on our way to the square. I think he's more proud of himself today, than he was two days ago.
"You sure know how to pick them."
We leave before I make sense of her comment. I'm still not sure if it was directed at me or at Peeta.

Letters form New Panem - part 5
"Ok, just a heads up, Everdeen totally has the hots for you."
Rye enters the kitchen through the swing door that leads to the front counter and I keep kneading the ball of dough I'm working on. One can never expect for Rye to stay on the front counter for more than ten minutes at a time. He's always looking for excuses to come back to the kitchen. Not that he enjoys being here. Not as much as I do anyway. He just hates the boredom up front when it's not rush hour.
"I'm sorry… what?" I ask with a mixture of bewilderment and doubt. Maybe I misheard him. I haven’t stopped thinking about Katniss ever since I got up today. How is she handling all that’s been going on? Does she have enough food? Is she happy? I wasn’t always like this. I always admired her from afar, I’m not gonna lie, but that was it. She was a pretty and intriguing girl from school, but I pushed her to the back of my mind. Sometimes I even succeeded. But as years went by my pull to her (obsession, Rye would say) has become stronger, and now a day doesn't go by where I don't think about her. Today my worry floods me completely and she’s been on my mind nonstop. Maybe that’s why I thought I heard my brother mentioning her.
"I know. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. But trust me. I know a smitten girl when I see one, and I have no idea how you actually pulled that one off, considering you don't even have the balls to talk to her, but… I guess she's sort of… INTO that. " He finishes with a hand gesture in the air, pointing to me, clarifying that I'm "that".

Platonic Madge/Peeta oneshot. Set pre-series.
Sometimes it’s easy to slip back into some semblance of what they used to be—to pretend there aren’t weeks in between where they have no idea what’s going on with one another. Sometimes it’s enough, to have at least some piece of him. And sometimes it’s really not.

After being rescued from the Capitol, Peeta receives a visit from someone he used to know. Platonic Madge/Peeta.
Peeta’s not sure what to say to her. His mind tells him there used to be a time when they could tell each other everything, but that time is as long gone as their dead district. And his mind hasn’t exactly been reliable lately.
“I don’t know what’s real anymore,” Peeta mutters through his teeth, not all that sure the words are even meant for Madge. “And they all look at me like I’m broken.”
His body is strained with an indescribable ache—it’s there in his eyes, in his chest, his mind, in all that he is and all that remains of him. No matter how long they induce his sleep for, he’s never rested. The weight of all that’s happened is enough to keep him awake for years.
Peeta looks up to catch Madge wandering around the room, her feet gliding gracefully along like the concrete floor was made for waltzing.
“We grew up in Panem,” she supplies softly, pausing by a machine whose purpose remains unknown. Madge gazes at the funny little dials before turning to face him. She tilts her head to the side, her face carved of patience like she’s studying him in search of meaning. “Maybe we were all a little broken to begin with.”
She shrugs and says it in a gently offhand way like her words didn’t just save his life a little.

So I'd like to take some graphic requests,
Right now I'll do anything Gale x Madge, Loki x Darcy, Thor x Jane, or Peeta x Madge (friendship).
Give me a scenario or something and I'll make the graphic! And yes, I'll do AU's as well!
