I feel like people are tryna apply a moral absolutist framework to the strike and strike action when striking is first and foremost, about impact
#like yknow#all the stuff with 'can I cosplay can I write fanfiction'#'what counts as crossing a picket line'#rules aren't helpful here#actions need to be evaluated for their impact on the strike#is you writing fanfiction the studios using you as an alternative source of labour to replace the striking workers? No#Is you doin fan cosplay without being part of a marketting team the studios using you as an alternative source of labour#to replace striking workers?#also no#unless the studios are paying you or you are actively finically profitting from strike action#like... if you wanna go into industry with the profession then maybe you wanna abstain for a while and act like you're on a picket line#but joe schmo the local student or local office worker who does cosplay in their sparetime is like... fine to be doin what they be doin#they're not calling for a boycott#so if you're just A Guy... buisness as usual#like its fine if this is messy and confusing and you get it wrong its like. Action. Not theory. You're one guy. You'll be fine#Use y'head and you'll be alright
