#radiography#get well soon#animals#vet#at the vet#medical imaging#animal memes#animalsgettingmedicalimaging#under the weather#pets#rat#rattus rattus#pet rats#they make okay pets but only in limited situations#most of the time theyre scared of everything and have to be pts#sometimes they accept domestoc rat friends but one on one they cant meet eachothers social needs#so domestic friends need to be in groups#and its illegal to re release them bc theyre pests#so usually they have to be pts#but even if you did release them after capture and hand rearing#they wont survive#because theyll have no social skills#its a tough one!#often people want to save the little pinkies they find but the only humane thing to do is usually put it to sleep#unless you can commit to 4 years of labour heavy ownership#and meet all its needs#complicated one#for sure#ive seen it done well!#but for every 1 happy rattus rattus in captivity there are 100 that have had to be pts or live miserably due to how specific the situation
