The worst part about some lovely 80s styles is that they are outdated enough to look prudish/frumpy but not old enough to register to common folk as retro/vintage.

#thoughts inspired by watching Remington Steele #some of Laura's outfits are so elegant #in this episode she's wearing a ruffle collared blouse and it matches her jacket so well and frames her face so nicely #but I would look like a clown wearing it out there #unlike say one or two of my older style recreations that clearly SCREAM vintage inspired
