   --- it wasn’t usual for evie to be anxious . . . but not having anyone they left around was strange to say the least ; concerning. the blonde tried her best to keep a positive outlook but it was hard. they -- evie , her sister & another -- were finally back at their familiar home. but no one was there. no mama & no blue ( their corgi ). of course , when they first got off the bus & it was obvious something was wrong , evie offered for anyone to go to her place for comfort - or if their house was simply too far to walk to.  she let out a short & shaky breath. “ it’ll be okay. ” said the girl while she placed her bag on the ground. “ i mean - fuck? they couldn’t have just up and vanished, could they? ” she dug in her pocket & pulled out her phone before quickly dialing her mothers number : glancing in worry at the two others in the home as the line rang.

the truth was, layla was calm about the situation everybody else was currently in. as much as she wished she was as worried, she just wasn’t. sure, it’s freaky more than half the town was gone and she wanted to find out more what was going on, but she felt things could have been worse. like a zombie apocalypse happening or possibly the end of the world. which did bring her to a question: was every other town like this too or just their’s? licking her lips, she brought out her phone before going through several social media apps, such as facebook, instagram, and twitter, but nothing. no recent updates from anything else, except her own friends that are already here in town. truthfully, finding that out heightened her anxiety. nonetheless, she kept her worries to herself. she didn’t need anymore people to freak out even more. “so--... who wants to do something tonight?” honestly, layla wanted to go swimming, but was that the best thing to say? not really.
