"alright," his head tilted, point of focus found just to the left of the objects of his focus. with the movement of the one behind the counter, hyu's hands felt around the counter half-blindly before he took hold of the first ball & gave it his best throw.

"A little impatient, aren't we?" Not even a greeting. Huh. "Well, then. Good luck?"

She's not sure what got into the guy but his hyperfixation leads to him knocking all but one of the bottles. Wow!

"Well, hey! Great shot! That's good enough for a prize. What can I get you?"

They're sitting on one of the school benches together as they typically do, enjoying the first warmth of springtime with an outdoor lunch. They'd sat in comfortable silence for the last few minutes, and it's only as a car drives by that Hugh speaks again, smirking as he does. "Hey, dude. What kind of car does an egg drive?" He allows a pause for contemplation, though not to answer. "A yolkswagen." His gaze darts to Keith, and he sips his water, anticipating a reaction. (Unovasrage)

Having lunch with Hugh was nothing out of the ordinary at all. In fact, if he wasn’t eating lunch on his own, the only other possibility would be that Keith was enjoying the break with Hugh. It was odd, in a way, how he was comfortable eating with him and not other people, but, he supposed, it made sense since he never made any sort of comment or indication of caring what he had brought at all (that is, if Hugh knew of his issues regarding meals anyway). In other words, Keith was grateful that he kept things normal and didn’t make the situation feel uncomfortable.

And the best thing was that even the silence didn’t put him on edge like it would with most people. He’d always worry he had said the wrong thing, but with Hugh, that didn’t seem to ever be the case at all. Everything was so low-stress that simply being in Hugh’s presence was therapeutic. Don’t ever think he’ll say this out loud!

The sound of a car racing by made him lift his head from the glass tupperware he had stored his lunch in, and it was Hugh’s question that drew his attention towards his friend. He stared at him like a deer in headlights, completely missing the humor due to an unrelated thought of ‘what kind of car was a volkswagen again?’. Though, he recovered himself within a second, forcing out a short laugh to at least not let the joke fall flat. 

A yolkswagon yolkswagen? All he could picture was an egg being towed around in a bright red wagon. He wasn’t too informed on cars. All he knew was that the one car sitting in his garage was a red minivan. However, as the joke was related to food eggs, his mind had automatically started shifting towards a forbidden train track again. Egg yolks had a lot of fat in them... he wouldn’t want to eat them. The whites—sure (since they had slightly more protein than the yolks), if animal products weren’t on his list of ‘do not touch’.

Predators probably do, at least. I feel like it would depend on if they were ‘predator’ Pokemon or if they’re considered ‘prey’.

😈 Do you think confession blogs are good venting platforms or do they just cause drama?

I really personally don’t like ‘confession’ or b.urnbook blogs. I’d seen enough of what it can create via some second hand experience & honestly it’s just a mess. 

Like I get it, people exist outside their own perception & everyone is going to be judged by strangers but really, doing that is really juvenile & just exists to create drama & conflict. There is such a thing as talking shit to just talk shit & the ‘confession blogs’ encourage a lot of that as well as spread drama & the need to look into people for more ‘tea’. People take such an indirect way to deal with problems these days & when communication DOES get into the factor part of it, it can be accompanied by a lot of harshness & belittling behavior on top of it so it’s like. Stay in a lane, be happy, & ignore it. 

If a person really wants to ‘vent’ in that way, they need to find a different hobby cause they’re just creating more problems than they are really helping.

    Despite her usual apprehension toward cold weather, she can’t deny that this time of year is nothing short of magical.

    They still have about an hour and a half to kill before they head over to the school theatre to catch a showing of The Nutcracker — something that she’d begged him for with the largest puppy dog eyes known to humankind — so they decide to wait it out at the local park in the meantime. In honor of the upcoming Christmas holiday, there are several pop-up stalls and a few food trucks set up near the park square. Everything from the park benches to the shut-off central fountain are all decked out with tinsel, Christmas lights, and other holiday motifs.

    “It’s so pretty,” she mutters, eyes wide in awe.

    The two of them stroll idly down the park in search of a bench, stopping once for Rosa to buy a hot chocolate and another for Hugh to buy a Christmas ornament that reminded him of Vera. Clutching the packaged ornament to her chest, Rosa steers her boyfriend to a nearby gazebo so they can escape the crowd and he can finally rest a bit.

    She picks out a wooden bench in a back corner, away from the bustle and noise from the crowd. Rosa starts to lean against Hugh, intent on using his shoulder as a pillow, when she notices the cluster of mistletoe dangling above them.

    Giggling, she gives his hand a squeeze. “Can I have a kiss?”

    Nervous info-dumping about the parasitic nature of mistletoe is thankfully a thing of the past. She’s ready and much more confident this time.

🐮 she was almost nervous as she stepped up, periwinkle gaze scrutinizing the bottle set-ups, though all the same she tried not to be too obvious about it. "these aren't glued together, right? people sometimes say they are --" her eyes drift to the adorable plushies they have available for winning, and it's enough to win her over even without a full answer. [ from vera ]

"Oh, are they?!" Mira laughs a bit at the comment. She's not too surprised, though. So far, no one has managed to knock over all the bottles. "I promise we're not rigged! Here—"

In hopes that it'll provide Vera some peace of mind, she reassembles the entire stack of bottles in front of her, showing that they're all moveable.

"Now, why don't you give it a shot?" The set of balls that she slides over are all pink.

She's unsure if it's the girl's nervousness or skepticism but it shows in her throws. Vera only manages to knock a few of the bottles on the top. Bummer...

"Ah... sorry, hun. Better luck next time?"
